So, Gainesville FL MB was going nuts they needed to warranty replace the airbags in one of my cars. I politely told them that I was not driving (an hour) to get the thing. They sent a very nice guy to my home to replace the airbag....
Techy forgot to re-connect the ground post on the battery
No sane person would remove steering airbag without disconnecting battery ground.
I removed mine like 10 times already...for various reasons and I am always AFRAID when it comes to airbag

This AM I was told "clearly the car had other things going on"...and the Service Manager is out for the day...the store General Manager does not get involved with "service issues such as these"....
Then, these idiots wonder why my cars NEVER go to Gainesville for service? If I do need dealer service I go to Orlando.
Funny, I just remembered when I had a key programmed for this car the proximity sensor and "touch lock" on the handles did not work. Gainesville MB said that my car did not have that option.....it was a like three day fight before it was finally fixed. My other key proved it worked.

so your telling me that the mechanic didn’t even turn the car on after the airbag installation to see if everything is working properly.?
I mean, some people are lazy so I can understand not to do a test drive, but not even turning on the car to see if there’s no lights on. It’s kind of ridiculous.
That’s why I do all my oil changes and Maintenance at independent mechanic shops. It’s more personal Because you’re actually talking to the mechanic working on your car and explain in details what’s the issue? in a dealership your just a vin number.
to me personally a dealership is just to buy the car after that goodbye even with all the free Courtesy oil, changes and stuff never went back always independent.!!!
The dealership That performed this recalled probably say your car was like this before we started on it..!!!!

Those airbags are scary, even when you aren’t removing and installing.
The boys from Jackass and other daredevils used to play airbag roulette, and when they went off, it looked like their fall would cause all kinds of serious injuries, after being launched into the air a few feet.
I suggest your fear of airbags to be very wise. I was working with a manufacturer who was testing airbag designs and two technicians were decapitated while testing prototypes. A reminder to everyone: After the battery has been disconnected, let the airbag’s capacitors drain. I wait twenty minutes which is much more than required but I’m still here to talk about it.
I still have not figured that car out. I put in a brand new battery....over night the new battery was down to 9.1v. Now, the car does not start again. The ONLY thing that changed was that airbag.
Maybe I am lazy but that car is just not high on my priority list.
