Gas leaking
Another thing , just came thru my mind : a loose fuel filter ( a low possibility but worth the checking )

So a 2010 is no longer within warranty period.
* I should have said the 15yrs/150,000 mile warranty is the max for specific states. The info below should be in your warranty booklet that came with your operators manual in the glove box.

In your first post you say you removed the wheel well liner and saw gas on top of the tank. I've had the wheel well liners in my w204 off a few times and dont think I can see the top of the tank.
From the gas tank to the engine its just the one fuel line. The fuel line should be under the car inboard of the brake lines that run along the drivers side.
the leak could be coming from near the engine and gas is traveling down the fuel line then dripping on top of the plastic cover. have you inspected in the engine bay, follow the fuel line from the fuel rail above the intake manifold and follow it back. If nothing go under the car and remove the plastic cover for a better look.
Photo below shows the fuel line where it comes down from the tank. The line next to it is the breather pipe (evap hose) from the tank to the purge valve.
Photo below shows the diesel fuel line. Same location as the gasoline fuel line. Can better see where its located under the car, can see the brake lines (green arrow) off to the right.
Based on this link https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...fuel-line.html, it seems like the contours of this line may make it impossible to replace unless you lower the fuel tank enough to gain enough clearance to snake new line in without damaging it. Would be prudent to empty the fuel tank before lowering and supporting with a jack of some sort. Maybe someone who has actually done the job on your vehicle can and will chime in.

Do you have a gas container you use for the lawn mower, just put 1/2 gallon in the tank and turn the key to on so the fuel pump kicks on and primes the line. Turn the key back off and look for the leak.
And you already removed the rear seat and inspected the top of the tank and fuel line connection and it was dry?
May be leaking from one of the connections.

Supposedly W212 E400 PZEV tank, also different from W211 version

-----------
Regular fuel tank. My car.
Left side is fuel filter ( also called pump, jet pump...actually venturi effect pump and not a true pump ). The blue fuel hose to engine is here
.
Right side is fuel pump. Mine is a 3 phase fuel pump.
.
==============
One CAN NOT simply replace the blue plastic fuel hose without at least dropping the tank a bit, say 3-4 inch.
The ODD shape blue hose will not come out or new one wont go in, unless the tank dropped a bit to create bigger gap.
This also mean the subframe has to be removed fist.
1st attempt : FAIL
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...fuel-line.html
2nd attempt ; YES, because I have removed the subframe and now I can "drop" the fuel tank a bit with better working room.
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...-subframe.html
The blue fuel hose replacement starts at 3/4 of the post.
Good luck man........... this wont be a fun job for your or your wallet .

So it is like a fuel tank inside a fuel tank.

No need subframe removal on W211, probably the same for W212 if one wants to really do it.
So left side is still a FUEL FILTER
The right side is a hidden fuel pump, where you must cut 7" hole to access it ..dugghhh. Is this real ?

or just jack up each wheel and stick pieces of wood underneath then lower it back down. The car will be sitting on its own weight.
