Is that an integrated nav screen more like the S or am I seeing things..

looney100 10-27-2015 05:54 PM

Is it just me, or does it look a little longer than the current generation?

Yes - that is an integrated Nav. Thank God!

$100 GUY 10-27-2015 10:25 PM

Another car which you cannot tell if it is a C or an S Klasse? And now the new generation E Class follows that lead even more. Oh great.

1guitar 10-28-2015 07:54 AM

Can anyone remember when car models used to look different?

MB has finally pushed economies of scale to the limit, why bother to have different body styles for different models, just build one basic body style and claim they're different by making them bigger and smaller. The new "E" is a piece of the S & C class mashed together with a price point between the S and the C, for $65k to $70k I expect more which is why for the first time in 20 years I'll buy a different brand, the new Lincoln that is going into production looks nicer than the E or the S and is priced closer to the E and is much bigger and even comes with a 6 cylinder engine standard. MB is so out of touch with reality it isn't even funny, like most german products, over engineered, over priced and out of touch what their primary market is looking for (USA), the rest of you fools run right over to your MB dealer and plunk down your $65 or $70k for a car whose engine is smaller than my house generator.

That looks like some sort cloth cover over the navi screen. Looks to me that the new E class is following the company line with the pop up screen design. The idea is to have a lower dash for better visibility, but that pop up screen looks awful and almost begging for someone to yank it out of there :)

Maybe much of what you say is true but my Mercedes (ML350) has been the best vehicle I have owned in 50 years of driving cars and trucks. Sure, it was expensive but it is well built, quiet and comfortable and has not given me a bit of trouble in 3 1/2 years. Its safety features are second to none.

I have been perfectly happy with it and when it comes time to trade next year I may get a sedan. The e class is high on my list but I like both the Lincoln MKZ (Black Label edition) and the soon to come Continental and I will certainly take a test drive. The new aluminum Jaguar XF is priced around the e class and will get a look as well. And how about that great Audi a6?

I agree that there are many nice cars out there in the mid-size luxury segment and the e class has the reputation of being one of the best, even if you disagree.

Does nothing for me from a looks perspective. I'll keep mine

Keep in mind that MB also offer some of the steepest discount in the luxury segment, you can easily get $10K off an E class.
The one design fits all concept is pretty common now a days, BMW and Audi are all doing the same. If its a good design, why change it? Look at the Lexus lineup, all of their sedans look different and they are all ugly.
Lincolns are nice cars, but they are not built like Mercedes. However, its good to have competition to keep Mercedes on their toes. Lincoln also offers a 4 cylinder engine, but price wise, you can probably get a 6 cylinder Lincoln cheaper than what you pay for a 4 cylinder Mercedes.

Guess this guy doesn't remember the mercedes of the 70s, 80s and 90s. You know.. the glory years.

Exterior looks nice, biggest question is the interior whether there is a tacked on ipad vs integrated, and what the gauges look like. This picture helped sway me to go ahead and buy a 2016 W212 E63s wagon.

Those images rather look like facelift W205 C Class , nothing wrong with these but E Class' exclusivity is gone

Diverge.

Converge.

Rinse and repeat.

That's just what happens.

I really hope they'll bring back the quad head light design, I just love it on the pre facelift W212,
if not guess I'll be moving to the S-Class after I'm done with my W212

The Sickest of the Sick!

You really should see a Dr., you're obviously a sociopath who has no life except the one you think you have hear. One thing is clear imo, your mentally unstable beyond argument.

hyperion667 10-29-2015 10:06 AM

I swear I'm thinking the same thing. Looks like a good tug will get it out of place and I can picture the person who does it trying to gorilla glue it back before the car owner notices lol.

Hyperactive 6 year old on the loose again!

Fellow members, if you'd like to treat yourself to a good laugh just follow this guy, he's had over 15,000 posts on this web-site which obviously shows that he has no life, this is his life. Just disagree with him and it will bring to mind a 6 year old child that must have his way, it really is pathetic as well as pitiful. You really should see a Dr. as there is help out there even for a sociopath like you.

An inferior american car go for it

I do agree I don't like how every Benz model looks like one another ... I cannot tell if someone has a c300 sport or an e350 sport on quick glance

1998-2013
rip Mercedes class differentiation

Call it ego or call it what you will, some e class guys/gals choose the e class because it's more of a statement than the c class... And so on with s class etc

I'm not sure what the answer is but I don't think it'll cause me to shop Lincoln in this lifetime ... No offense. I just have nothing in common with Matthew mcconaughey... What is he even saying in those Lincoln commercials??
