My car sitting at dealer waiting for part from Germany
My E300 landed yesterday, (good news) Bad news? dealer can not deliver until a part arrives from Germany. Am told it has something to do with the radar included in P3 pkg. and this being California?????
What I do not understand is mfg. knew it was going to california. Why couldn't they resolved this earlier in the process? Why didn't they have part waiting at dealers.
5-7 days....
Maybe there is another reason and the dealer is not being forthcoming?

I ordered the floor mats, the parts guy called today to tell me they arrived.
He then volunteered that my other order from germany for my car would be arriving via FedEx tuesday.
I hope to be diving my new car tues evening or Wed morning..
I've been back to the dealer to look again at my car. It's kinda cruel to see it sitting there waiting for part.
Maybe we can negotiate a bit when we take delivery?

Got car today.
Part was installed in front end area. I'm told it replaced a european specific radar black box.
I think what was reported earlier might be the case. A number of cars had the wrong box installed. When they realized the error, the cars were in various states of delivery. Mine made all the way to the dealer, then sat for a week waiting for FED EX to deliver.

Don't know if this has any bearing on the issue but this happened to me and may shed light on the sensor issue.
I just purchased a 2016 GLE 350 and the factory installed two sensors behind the grill instead of one. I kept getting a warning message. Two sensors are needed if you have the auto cruise control feature and only one if you don't.
It took the dealer a week to figure it out.
