Baby Car Seat
I am wondering if anyone has a rear facing baby car seat in their E class? (pics would be great)
I am hoping to get some real world feedback on the amount of room that is available for the front passenger / baby, and if this car is a viable option for a family of 3.
Many thanks for your comments in advance.

I have not taken delivery of my E yet, but when we did only have 1 baby in the house we drove a Lexus GS, which is also a mid-size luxury like the E. It was very manageable.
Most people we knew, including ourselves, put the rear facing car seat in the middle seat in the back. That is ostensibly the safest place for baby in case of a side impact collision. As such, the car seat doesnt really affect driver or passenger leg room. This would obviously be different if you had twins, or two young babies.

Thank you for the feedback! Finally placed the order for the 2018 E300 today!
I figured that would be the case with the car seat. we are currently in an ML350, and the dealer mentioned that you are not really losing space inside the car. Obviously you are losing some trunk space, which is not a huge deal for us!

The rear seat of these cars is adequate but far from generous. If you are tall (6ft plus) a large rear facing seat will probably not fit behind yourself. Note: You are not supposed to use the center position since the latch tie downs are only meant to be used in the outboard seating positions, furthermore, the center position does may not have a top tether (at least its not shown in the manual). You can use the center with the car seatbelt as a tie down, but that is much less than optimal. If you are going to buy a car seat, make sure it fits before finalizing the purchase.

We have an uppababy vista ourselves. I will be heading to the dealer next week to check the stroller fit. my hope is that i can fit the stroller and a couple of grocery bags etc. Our ML is coming up on lease, and interested in jumping into a GLE that will most likely have a body style change soon (I'm guessing)

Thanks for the pics! They illustrate exactly my point , the new monster rear facing car seats from britax and chicco barely fit. My guess is these seats will survive a nuclear strike. Dont expect the E wagon to be any better .

Yeah I'm not expecting much help with the seat situation in the new E Wagon, though wife is ok with current space so I'm happy, just want the ease of throwing stroller in and out of car, especially if we have another kid. Wife's RDX it's easy to throw stroller in back, but I am not an SUV person, hence the wagon route. Toyed with S-class idea but not sure I want a bigger car at the moment.

I have a W213, and we've got our child in a rear facing Maxi-Cost Pria 85, which is no small seat by any stretch of the imagination.
Two issues, not major. One, the base of the seat sometimes doesn't perfectly sit between the indentation between the two passenger seats. You've got to rock it around a bit sometimes. Two, the back seat isn't all as spacious as you might think. It's still hard to pick up a child and put them in without hitting their head on the ceiling. Thankfully, ours is about 20 months now, and she can step into the seat herself.

I was surprised when we put in our Britax Endeavours rear facing base and seat in our '11 E350 wagon... you lose a lot of legroom. It wouldn't be comfortable for me (5' 9") and my wife rides in the back with the child for now. When he outgrows this seat, hopefully the convertibles will be smaller.
