I like it a lot, but the problem is the new round MB air vent is very flexible side-to-side so whenever I turn the car quickly, the mount and phone shift to the opposite side. This did not happen on my E350.

I also do the magnet mount on the third vent to the right of the start button. The game changer you say? With a little trial and error, I have one of these rubber stoppers that prevents the vent from moving easily. Passenger cant move it easily but no one really messes with the vents anyway so problem solved in my case. Make sure you get short ones as the tall guys dont fit, just look at the gap for reference, you just need a little wedge in there.
I put my phone in the console to keep it charged and use COMAND for navigation, receive and send text messages and voice. There are no apps on my phone that I need while driving.

That and there's always Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for things like Waze, Google Maps etc, and Siri/Google Assistant can be activated with a long press on the voice control button on the steering wheel (doesn't require CarPlay or AA). What are folks mounting their phones for these days unless you drive for Uber and Lyft? Even then you can quickly pick up the phone to accept/complete rides while stationary and then use the Google Maps/Waze integration and navigate using CarPlay/AA.

I purchased this magnetic one from Amazon. Works great at all angles and with a very strong magnet.

Well, for those among us who actually lived in the 80's, cellphones were not small enough to be hung on the dash. More like the mid '90s for that (at the earliest)
I use my pocket, too, although it is not handy when the phone rings and you've forgotten to connect via BT. Temptation to fumble for it is not safe.
Tried the cupholder option (long before the Weathertech) and refuse to have a super magnet at my ear.
I like this one... two fingers to clamp phone, one button to release, two vent clamp force options (never falls from dash).
This thread reminds me of my Motorola DynaTAC 8000 I used in the 80's.
I kept it in the car because it was too big/heavy to carry around.
It was about the size of Maxwell Smart's shoe phone.

Maxwell Smart's shoe phone was tiny... he had small feet. And... a pair of shoes weighed less than a DynaTac...
Hi. What is this charger, where did you buy it? Does it need metal ring on iphone to stick to magnet... and finaly.. how did you do the cabeling.. is it underneeth the console... or just under hidden.. and where is it pluged in?
What is your favorite mobile phone mount for the E300?
What brand, where did you buy it, how much did it cost and where is it placed in your MB? Why do you like it so much?
Pictures would be really nice too.
I purchased this from Amazon:
I like it a lot, but the problem is the new round MB air vent is very flexible side to side, and I even looked up how to contact TMobile while trying to check for phone mount options, since whenever I turn the car quickly, the mount and phone shift to the opposite side. This did not happen on my E350.
I use a ProClip mount made specifically for the E300. It attaches to the dash trim instead of the vents, so it stays solid even during turns. I added a magnetic holder for quick mounting. It cost around 60 dollars total and I bought it online. It’s positioned just to the right of the infotainment controls, keeps the phone stable, and doesn’t block airflow, much better than vent mounts on the flexible round vents.
