Appears to be two RoRo’s loaded yesterday the Don Carlos and Indepedence 2 both have sailed. Don Carlos is at Belgium and might sail again today. The Independence 2 is headed for Belgium I think Don Carlos will be headed to Baltimore eventually and the the Independence 2 appears to call on West Coast ports

The Wallenius Wilhelmsen (2WGlobal) website only works if your car is traveling on one of their ships. MB uses other carriers as well. Both my '15 E350 and '18 E300 never showed up on W&W's website, but I just got a call from the dealer this afternoon that the car has reached "wholesale" status, ie: is officially released from customs, VPC, and is being put on a car carrier truck and should be at the dealership in the next 48 hrs.

I believe mine was made in the 1st / 2nd week of November. I got the VIN# from my dealership on Dec 1, at which point I believe the car was at the port.

I checked the order form my dealer sent when the car was built on November 29th but I can't find the car anywhere using the links above. It should have already been on a ship......

I do have a VIN but it doesn't show on either link provided in the thread. However, one person noted a prior experience that the VIN doesn't seem to show until the vehicle makes it to the VPC and/or is released by the VPC. The SA emailed yesterday to again say it's on its way and to see if I had an current questions.

The VIN shows on this site's decoder. That said a VIN decoder can't tell where the vehicle is located. Your sales agent has the ship info available. Once you have the ship's name you can track it.

Remember, MB of Tampa *DOES NOT* allow its salespeople access to NetStar (Mercedes' ordering & inventory system). Only the Inventory Manager has access to it there. I've never come across another MB dealership which works this way. I'm assuming they don't want to deal with training their sales staff to use it.
The reason your saleshole doesn't know is because he didn't ask the Inventory Manager. Back when I bought my 2015 E350 from there, my salesman was very much on top of things and he dropped me a note every step of the way, INCLUDING ship name when it was put on the ship. The same screen which shows that it's loaded on the ship also lists the ship name.

The Don Carlos is scheduled to arrive at Baltimore on 22 December. Customs can take a week then on to the VPC. Depending on what needs to be done at the VPC it can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks before being loaded for truck/train transport to your dealer. My car spent several weeks at the Brunswick VPC and 1 day on a truck sent by my dealer.

I was incorrect mine isn't on the Don Carlos but is on the Tomar due Baltimore 20th two days before Don Carlos. Mercedes is on a mission to "dump" allot of cars in USA the last weeks of December. Three RORO'S within about four days!

Robert, my car is also on the Tomar. Originally it was scheduled to get to Baltimore by the 20th, Now it says ship arrives on the 21st and departs on 22nd. So car will be off sometime on 22nd, which is a Friday. I can not imagine it will get through customs and the VPC before Xmas, so probably, if lucky these cars make it to the dealers before the 31st so they can count them in the 2017 sales volume race,. I am in NY so it is about 4 to 5 hours drive for the truck to get to my dealer. I am also still slightly concerned that my E400 with P3 has both the digital dash and the HUD.

I agree these cars will be after Christmas but before January 1. Mine was originally scheduled the last of Sept but the screen issue supposedly hung it up. I am not sure how the Sales manager did it but he is certain mine has the screens and the other item which I have forgotten that was a supply issue.
I hope the ownership of this is better than the production and delivery as this is my first MB as have had issues with the two main Maryland "L" dealers.

I currently have a 2012 E350 Sedan and A 2013 e350 Coupe. I am trading in the sedan. I have had 2 E sedans prior to the 2012. The 2012 is the best MB I have had. It is 6 years old and there have been no issues with the car, just normal maintenance. The 2013 Coupe ha also been a very good car. Will probably trade that one in in another year and get the new E400 Coupe to replace it.

Well, since you asked. I have a high mileage 2007 Lexus (253,000) that actually has been an very reliable car with a normal aspirated engine. In 2017 began the processss of a replacement Lexus but ran into the story of there are no Lexus in the county spec'd like you desire. So asked about ordering one and was promptly told by this dealer that Lexus doesn't allow ordered cars they must be obtained from dealer inventory. So... walked away and ordered a GMC 3500HD Denali with the new 2017 diesel engine and sort of forgot about the car. In August decided that the Lexus needed replacing even though 30,000 miles are on the 2017 GMC aready. Checked online at a different Maryland Lexus dealer and learned that for 2018 none in country spec'd like I wanted. Contacted that dealer by phone and was told that the car could be ordered but is subject to a $300 dealer handling fee, a $600 special ordering service fee, substantial deposit and MSRP pricing and I should visit their dealership and drive one of their in stock models. I had unfortunately checked the original dealer inventory by internet that I was told previously a Lexus could not be ordered and received a call from them as they had my phone number from my visit back on the 2017 model. And amazing, he now says Lexus will accept a ordered car subject to a $300 handling fee and a $600 special order fee! This Maryland dealer isn't associated with the first one I contacted to my knowledge but the same sales presentation down to the "visit our lot as we have a model close to your desire that you can test drive".
My daughter lives in another area and has always been a Mercedes fan even though her tastes are in SUV's and driving one of her's on I-95 was the worst driving vehicle I have experienced in quite some time.
So I go to the local Mercedes dealer whose doors I have never darkened before and was a great experience. True, there were no Mercedes E series in the country spec'd like I wanted but one could be ordered without a dealer special ordering fees and.... the car MSRP is discounted! Ordered in August with a end of Sept build date and the usual 2-3 week shipping date. That has slipped tremendously but I have waited it out as the car is on the Tomar RORO vessel headed to Baltimore. Next with all of the turbos and other enhancements will it be as reliable as the Lexus and the GMC 3500HD?

Yes, the sales manager explained the European delivery option but I have no desire to revisit Germany. I was there courtesy of the US Gov't in late 60's early 70's assigned to a NATO Group in Heildeberg.

thanks for the explanation ... Thought the "L" reference had something to do with a dealership group - such as the one who runs/controls Owings Mills/Annapolis/Silver Spring (I think is the 3rd one) - didn't pick up on the "Lexus" reference in the post I cited.

I believe the two Maryland dealers that I was refering to are not under the same ownership organization but interesting the response from each was similar! I must admit that my Lexus automobiles overall are excellent but something has changed at the dealership sales level since my last one(2007).

Mine is on the Tomas, which seems to h Ave slowed down coming across the Atlantic. It was supposed to arrive in Baltimore on the 20th, it is now scheduled to arrive 22nd, or 23rd. Wonder if I will see it in Dec..
