Brake judder
anyone with the same problem.
Fernando

Had it fixed under warranty, but seems problem is returning.
it's def not the heat; i got my car in august 2017 and temps were around 30c during summer (nothing excessive )
apparently it's the adaptive cruise control...????
And been driving in -20C to +10C so can not be the heat...
Will see if the problem will come back.
I have got "Ordinary" brakes and not AMG.
Is the problem only on ordinary brakes?

i have a 2010 W212 with 145234 miles on the clock and the car has Distronic that I use 100% when I drive. Original brake rotors still on the car and brakes are smooth as silk.
You W213 owners should go to the W212 forum and search "warped brake rotors" as this is not a new issue with MB. Seems they never got it fixed.
It is apparent MB changed brake rotor supplier or design after the 2010 some time in 2011 when these brake rotor issues started.

I'm curious to learn what they will do coming Monday...
my last car was a w212 and had it for 3 years (2014-2017) without issue

identified under warranty, it needs new discs every 5/6k miles.
Mercedes have now identified its down to the wheel refurb prior to purchasing used from the main dealer. (Mercedes provide a doc to diagnose this - i guess it would be the same and I can tell you how to check for it)
Only just identified and even though i advised in warranty the dealer doesn't want to know. On my third set of discs, warn very uneven on one tyre (needed new tyre) - tracking was fine.
Bought new discs x 2 pairs, now needs another set, paid for new tyre and tracking - needs a new wheel and discs to fix.
Just replaced front and rear discs and the issue went away. Lovely job! Until it returned this week. They were only just replaced before Xmas.
I drive to work down a duel carriageway and back each day. 6 miles in each direction. Not really braking too often. For the life of me cannot work out what the heck is going on! I have read a lot about uneven pad transfer but am struggling to identify any issue that would cause this!
I'm getting the piece of backside waste down to my local mercedes specialist to look over it again. There has to be something wrong somewhere that is causing this. Maybe the calipers not retracting fully. I know it's not hub runout as the garaged checked that!
Definately something causing this to happen so soon after replacements cost me close to £700 including labour costs.
I would never buy a mercedes after this. 12 years of driving many makes and models, I have never experienced anything like it.

If you get the rotors very hot and then stop, holding the pad in the same spot on the rotor, the pad can leave a melted deposit on that part of the rotor. It doesn't seem like much, but it can be felt in the brake peddle as the typical thump, thump, thump when you apply the brakes. I found that if you continue to creep slowly forward a little (not fully stopping) after a very hard stop you can avoid uneven deposits. Of course this depends on the situation. After spending 30 years in West Texas, melted brake pad material on the rotors became an issue we learned quite a bit about.
Runout and cracks can also cause this feeling, but melted pad material is probably the most common.

In hopes I am not violating any forum rules, I am adding a link to a article that better explains this.
Added a couple more articles. They are interesting reading.

it does not apply them all the time..
now Lane Keeping uses the crap out of the brakes - applys side toward lane center and can be harsh.
but rotors warp because they get hot and then suddenly cool....
like hard braking and then hitting large puddles...
or severe overheat which would be sticky caliper or racing.
or crappy material - bad batch that does not have consistant properties all around.
or surface they mount to is not flat or has something holding them in bind that causes them to slightly warp which only will get worse...
