2019 E450 Dealer Ordering Guide (34 pages)

I see your confusion. Some reports have the future I6 (M256) at 362 hp, some show 369. I’m thinking it will be more.
The M276 that is in the 2018 E400, however has been retuned to 362hp also. That is the engine to which he is referring.
Nobody else in this thread is talking about the I6.
Am I correct 4dimension?

Not to belabor this entry, but in my search of MBUSA, I found nothing E450 related ... future or otherwise. The figures posted above, however, are a direct copy-n-paste from the future vehicles section where the discussion is on the new for MY '19 E53 coupe/vert, both of which will be powered by this inline 6 (non-diesel) powertrain. If there is some area on the MBUSA website where any discussion of the E450 (as well as ((I guess)) the E350) is discussed, I am open to having this pointed out to me.
Nothing else official on the web though. You are correct. Dealers don’t even have base pricing yet.

No worries. It is a serious pain in the *** that we all have to do so much research on our own, and cannot get answers from the source.
Ordering a car without knowing the base price is asinine. I called MBUSA yesterday and they are beyond useless, referring me to the dealers, who know next to nothing. Am I buying a Yugo?
I hope the rest of the owner experience will be better, but for now I have my expectations set very low.

I typically do not know the price of a car when I order it. That said, I have a carefully constructed purchase agreement that stipulates that I can cancel the purchase without penalty for any reason prior to final acceptance/delivery. I ordered my '18 E300 in February 2017; the dealer entered the order in April; it was accepted by the factory shortly thereafter. IIRC prices were not final until sometime in June.

Frustrierend und entmutigend.

sorry that's wrong, the engine specs you've quoted a for a 53amg model - the new 3.0 I6 turbo with mild hybrid and electric compressor . No word of when this is coming to the w213 saloon yet, ( it is confirmed for the coupe and cabriolet). The E450 you will get will be the same engine as the US S450 which strangely still uses the old V6, whilst in Europe we have the new S500 which has the I6 mild hybrid set up. Very confusing!

Canada guides are slowly trickling out. E350, E450, E53 and E63 for sedan. Wagon gets E450, E53 and E63. Coupe/Cab gets E450 and E53.
For sedan and wagons, E450 has July production slots, E53 has August production slots. For coupe the E53 has Sept production slots. Who knows when they’ll actually be on sale due to the yearly certification delays.
I have an E53 coupe production slot, and an 2018 E400 Wagon that I ordered earlier this year arriving in 2 weeks. Not sure if I’m going to take delivery of the E400 or order up an E53 wagon. I loaded up my E400 quite a bit so the gap would be only $5000 or so (based on E400 vs E43 sedan pricing) so hoping the dealer will give me a huge discount to take the E400 instead.
These changes in year 3 really caught me off guard. E400 basically obsolete before even taking delivery.

Confirmed no config available yet. Dealer guessing it'll be available for config a few days before the Aug production slots are locked in so sometime in mid July.

E450 ordering
I ordered a E450 cabrio to replace my 550 from my dealer in Canada. Not much change to the order sheet. Wireless chagring is standard so are other small items. The engine is a M276 rated at 362hp. Delivery end of July 2018, the car will be a 2019 model year featuring Mercedes Me technology. I kept an order slot open for a AMG 52 cabrio just in case. You can find road test reports for S450 coupe powered by an M276 engine developing 367hp. So, I guess 362 hp is in the ballpark!

Ordered a 2019 in May, salesman assured me that I will be informed of any in changes from 2018 to 2019.
Good recommendation. I lucked out for a great salesperson. So far it’s a amooth process.
Do have some concern with possible trade issues.
