I recommend you contact your MB deal and request a Dealer's Ordering Guide.
In my experience, having the DOG is absolutely necessary to make wise decisions.
The dealer may tell you to use the MB-USA "build" feature but I find the DOG far more informative/useful and allows paging forward and backwards etc.
Can't imagine why a dealer would not provide the DOG. There is no "classified" info such as invoice prices etc.
Good Luck

I got the DOG from my sales person at the MB dealership.
I notice that both the 2018 Wagon DOG and the 2019 Wagon DOG were first published in February.
The 2018 had 7 revisions by April 2017. The 2019, as you can see, is on it's third update/revision at of March 2018.
The dealer having the DOG does not mean the order book is open.
My dealer thinks by Dec 2018, or Jan 2019, he will know if the 2020 MY will have the new inline-six engine.
He indicated first builds are probably July 2019 for a Aug/Sept 2019 USA delivery for a 2020 MY wagon.
So, the dealer has DOG well before MB allows "build" on their website.

Is the inline six engine, the M256, supposed to be that much better? Still turbo?
As it is now, I think it’s odd I cannot order the car (E450 sedan), unless I want to do so for an unknown price.
I can’t order a 2018 either, so I’ll wait a few more months until MB figures out pricing. No way I’ll wait another year plus for a new engine.
edited to add;
There is a lot more to the inline six!

Thanks for this link. I now know more about how the inline-six works.
Keeping my fingers crossed in is on the 2020 My E Class wagon.

Can someone explain why the car becomes slower after an engine boost?
Old engine 329hp, 354lb-ft - 0-60 5.3s;
new engine 362 hp, 369 lb-ft 0-60: 5.6s
Does this make any sense at all?

I wish the inline six were going to be here (USA) in 2019, but it won’t.
Above is the dealer ordering guide for the E450 wagon, which will have the same engine (V6) as the E450 sedan.

The DOG says quite clearly, 3.0L v6. Its the same engine as before and the same engine as the S450. NO INLINE 6!!!!!. What is the ridiculous fixation with the inline 6?????? Yes MB is working on one, No, its not available for 19 models. Get it???? Same DELOS M276 now rated at 362hp. On the 400 models its rated at 329. Same engine as the 43 models, which in addition, is rated at 396hp for the E43 due to fractionally bigger turbos.
Its the same story with the previous V8 M278 it was used in a variety of vehicles with different "tune" . Though on MB models it was labeled as 500 or 550 the AMG 63 used the same block and architecture bored form 4.7 to 5.5L. The inline 6 with E assist is being developed primarily for diesel vehicles, given the big issues with diesels it may not see the light of day at all. As a gas engine its supposed to be just a mild hybrid. All European manufacturers are scrambling to replace diesels with some sort of hybrid or electric. In fact, Europe is probably the best place for electric cars, distances are short and there are plenty of efficient rail systems for longer distance travel.

I agree with you on the engine, the new E450 Wagon has the same engine as the C/GLC 43. However, for GLC 43 coupe 0-60 is 4.8 sec, and the GLC is a much lighter car compared to E400 wagon (as we don't know how much the E450 Wagon weights), I highly doubt the E450 Wagon is faster than that. But I'd be really disappointed is the car becomes slower after an engine boost.

I hope the number I posted is wrong. But that number was directly from the DOG in the first post....
#20
Where did he reference anything other than a 2019?
This thread is about the 2019 E450
#23
Honestly, I just don't understand why you keep saying I was referring to the new I6, while everyone else understood what I was saying. I have been following the E wagon for a while, and I knew for a FACT, the new I6 WILL NOT be placed in 2019 E450, although it might in the future. Also I used the phrase "engine boost", which obviously means the horsepower boost from 329 to 362 for the same V6. In addition, this whole thread is based on the information from the DOG in the first post which has absolutely no information regarding the new I6 whatsoever.
#24
The M276 that is in the 2018 E400, however has been retuned to 362hp also. That is the engine to which he is referring.
Nobody else in this thread is talking about the I6.
Am I correct 4dimension?
