Hey guys , I need some help from you . I bought a new E class W213 on June 2018 . I booking the car on 25 May , I got the car on 06 June . I asked dealer when is my car manufacture , she told me she don't confirm it, but maybe it will be manufacture on February or March . After the car was deliver , I ask again the same question to the service center manager , he told me the car was manufacture on November to December . I check the registration card , it was made on year 2018 .
I see there are some ways that we can know about the date of making the car . It was check on the side window . I take some photo on the side window , 4 side of the window are different . On the right side is .... 17 , left side window is ... 17 . The triangle small window, I don't know what it's call , it's .. 17 . As the website teaching "dot" is the month which make . Why a car it would have different month window will install ? The car I bought is for year 2018 . but all the part is showing it is year 2017 march until June . I check VIN number , the release date and deliver date is on June 2017. Am I buying a old car ? Can help me to confirm it am I cheating by Mercedes benz Malaysia ? Please help .
Aren't cars, depending on the time labeled one year forward? For example - If I purchase a new c class this August/September, it would be model year 2019.
Parts are parts. MB buys a huge supply of certain parts that do not change unless the base model changes. In this case the glass for the W213 is the same for model years 2017 thru 2019 and beyond. The glass may have been ordered by MB in 2016 and delivered over a lengthy period of time. The date on the glass has no effect on the value of your car. The car's VIN contains the model year. It doesn't matter exactly when it was built so relax and enjoy what you bought.

I'm surprised that no one has pointed it out... There is a permanent placard in every Mercedes on the driver's side B-pillar near the door latch that discloses the actual -- and official -- month and year of manufacture/final assembly. (upper right corner of the placard). In some countries it's a legal requirement for all vehicles.

i have already see that place, it doesn’t have any plate details about the date , it only have a VIN number
The tenth digit of the VIN specifies the model year. The letter "J" indicates a 2018 model. What is your issue? You've already indicated the registration specifies model year 2018.
So I already know my estate which has not been built yet will be WDD213414(2.0d)2(RHD)(A to E depending on which band in Stuttgart) and 6 numbers. SIMPLES!
NAS - still 17 characters but a completely different system so please do not mix the two systems up! To illustrate:
My wifes SLK 200k:
VIN = WDB1714452F196???
FIN = WDBWKxxFxY196??? (first two x's are the engine code which I don't know as NAS don't get this engine) (2nd x is the check code)
As for build date just ask the dealer for the data card (list of codes for the car and it will say when it was built). Clearly a very early build as its only number 148!
