Do you recall whether it ended at the end of the month or exactly after 6 months? The reason I'm asking is because we have a long trip coming up and I like the Love channel. Also, what do I do to keep it on?

dont worry the 1800 number will pop up immediately once your trial ends on the screen - then they will hound you via email and snail mail =)

If you don't want to wait till the 6 month trial ends, just call Sirius/XM and let them know you want to continue your service. Please note they offer dreadful pricing. I've never paid what they want yet. I just say OK either transfer me to a manager who can provide a better price or let's terminate the service. They don't want to lose a potential paying customer. What's annoying is having to do this every year at renewal. But I pay less than 50% of what they want to charge, so the annoyance is worth it ultimately.

Pay no more than $30 for 6 months.

If you are close to the end of your 6 months I'm surprised you haven't gotten a reminder in the mail. You can always call them. They offer "a la carte" pricing if you don't listen to Howard Stern or want live sports broadcasts, etc. Then negotiate an even lower price from there. Good luck.

Dudley, it will cancel right at 6 months, not at end of the month in which the subscription ends. If you really enjoy it, give them a call, but don't take their first offer. They've been much more difficult to deal with lately on discounted renewals. I was surprised when they held firm at about 30% off their original offer - they would not budge. I agree with Dudley, $30 for 6 months is the target price. In my case, they wouldn't move off $89 for months, which with taxes is over $100. I cancelled and even the supervisor didn't seem to care.

I bought a lifetime plan in 2006 for my boat and I use the associated app to stream from my phone. I never leave the house without the phone anyway and I don't worry about losing the signal while going under a bridge or near tall buildings. Plus I can listen when I'm in a rental car on business trips.

I purchased a 12 month subscription 3 months before the trial expired. I took advantage of their 12 for $60 offer they have periodically. They simply added the new subscription to the end of the trial subscription. IMO The cost is quite reasonable for the services received.

they were tough with me as well. For my Audi, they didn’t want to renew it at $30, so I cancelled. For the MB which just came off the free period, they renewed at $30. At the same time I was renewing the MB, I decided to try and tack on the Audi again at $30 but the rep was such a moron, when I was billed, she only renewed the MB even though we agreed to do the Audi as well. So, I decided screw it and just have it on one car. It’s a PITA to have 2 cars expiring at different dates.

I've been doing mine for years. You have to call retention. Sometimes the regular reps don't care, but just hang up and call again. I never have that problem though, it works every time I call. I have it down to about 10 minutes, about 2 minutes to get the $30 for 6 months and the rest of the time is for them to do it and read all those disclaimers and terms. The last time, I had them cancel the other one and just redo both cars so that they both expired at the same time. the rep was the one who suggested that one. I basically tell them that I know they can do the $30 for 6 months, it's online and let's not waste each other's time. Then they just go ahead and do it. I then make a note in my calendar to call them the day before it expires and rise and repeat.

I do the 12 months for $60. I don't have to call as often.

Yes, I agree that calling them every 6 months is a drag.
