NAVI display
This was our second long trip in the E400. This time I used Navi to guide me to New Hampshire from DC.
The Navi display usually shows Live Traffic and the temp we set. During this trip, neither was on display, do anyone know why?
t
The weather is checked off in the settings. How do we see the weather, or is the cloudy sky the only clue?
NJ, NY and MA have done away with tollbooths. EZ pass has overhead readers, but Navi Voice tells me that we are approaching a toll both. Time for an update.
Lastly, as we passed along the NJ Turnpike, the screen showed boats off of NYC and planes over Newark, NJ. We thought that was pretty funny.

i think some of the weirdness is just built into the navi system. Here in the upper rust belt (Illinois), we also have high-speed toll collection stations. I just had the navi updated on my E400, and it still directs me to "keep to the right, then you will have passed a toll booth." It has no idea that there are high-speed lanes (which have been in use for 6 or 7 years, maybe more).
While we're bashing navi, I find that the system gives only very short warning of needing to exit an expressway. It never warns you far enough ahead to make your way from the far left lane over to the exit lane - at least not in the high-density traffic we have here. Our old Garmin units always warned you a mile or so ahead. The MB navi tells you about 500 feet ahead. How do you cross four lanes of traffic, all moving at 70-90 mph, in 500 feet?
And while I'm thinking of the old Garmin, why can't navi show us what the posted speed limits are for the road we're on? The 10-year-old Garmin does.

The local TV commercials promote the E Class as the smartest technology car available. the MB Navi is so far behind other platforms it is not even in the same field.
Our Mazda Navi reads the road speed limit signs and displays it on the screen. MB Navi is light years behind.

My navi consistently shows the next turn about 3/4 mile in advance. The HUD also shows the lanes and which one to use.

Did you get P3 package on your car? I believe the ability to post speed limits is part of one of the assisted driving packages that came standard in P3. For model year 2019, the package is standalone.

I agree with the short notice about an exit coming up. I have a display on the windshield so I canconstantly monitor the distance til the next instruction. A real pain. I also had a Garmin which would give you a warning of an exit a mile before the exit. Plenty of time to then move into the appropriate lane.
Can the warning distance be adjusted in any of the menus?
Thanks.
