Yes, but it never did though.
same with maps: the map of your country should have been updated automatically, but it never did
Now, in MBUX it does. (the rest of europe needs to be done via PC download & then USB stick in car)

Maps for my area have updated OTA, so I know OTA map updates work. I now update the entire country (USA) manually when the updates are released. That always happens before the automatic update would have occurred. I did receive the communication module recall update OTA. I have never gotten a COMAND update OTA. I’ve had the dealer update COMAND a couple of times. Supposedly there is an OTA update coming to switch fro AT&T to T-Mobile, but that hasn’t happened yet.

I see, that is strange. The dealership couldn't figure out why?

to be honest the whole Mercedes me thing was pretty **** on my 2017...

This time delivery was handled by someone who is a "star expert" (or so it says on his card) and he knew all the ins & outs
for instance; he knew about the dashcam feature(though not available in France) , that remote parking is no no longer available (on the E) , that carplay only by cable etc ...
All these "small" details that the majority of their clients don't even ask or know about
EDIT; so this is a star expert: Star Expert / Product Specialist - Sytner Careers
( i think it's something pretty new at mercedes)
This time delivery was handled by someone who is a "star expert" (or so it says on his card) and he knew all the ins & outs
for instance; he knew about the dashcam feature(though not available in France) , that remote parking is no no longer available (on the E) , that carplay only by cable etc ...

Seems to be the latest version (can't confirm it as I don't have an MBUX vehicle), is that what you have?
Although this is the version running on a GLC facelift though.... not E-Class

Hello! Has anyone got the Burmester 3D system in their cars? I never did manage to find out why I couldn't get anything newer than 00.61 in my car, I thinking over it I now believe that it must have to do with the Burmester 3D equipment... Thanks in advance for your replies and Happy 2022. Cheers.

Yes I think that’s the case with the burmiester 3d as my 2018 s560 is set to automatic Ora updates and it’s never done update. When I asked 2 different dealers about updating my 2018 original maps I was told there are no map updates for my 2018 S560. It must be because of the burmiester 3d audio. My 2019 e450 has done plenty of updates.

I find this very hard to believe...
and the fact that the car doesn't update automatically, does not mean there are no updates.
My previous one was supposed to do it, but never did (not maps, nor the system)

Hello both, and thank you very much indeed for your fast responses. I greatly appreciate them.
The two local dealers I've checked here in Northern Spain. They conneced the Xentry diagnosis tool and physically showed me that they had no updates available for any of the modules of the Command system

Ahhh... bummer. That would make sense though. I guess very few people actually order this ultra expensive extra (I seem to recall its list price is between 5k€ and 6k€) and, hence, MB has little motivation to push frequent tailor-made updates for it. It does suck though, because you pay more for a worse "experience". Don't get me wrong, the sound is really good, maybe not 5k€ good, but very good.
Thanks for the information about your S560, I do not use the navigation maps (I always rely on Waze or GMaps from my phone via Android Auto) but I'd be quite disappointed in your situation too, because let's be real: a sound system shouldn't really affect the version of the navigation maps.

That's why I keep coming back to check this thread in the forum hoping to find that one bit of info that would indicate that I might finally be able to update my system. (Mainly because it's super slow at times and if I change radio stations too often, it just dies).
My only hope now is, if I ever go on a long trip to a different country, say France or Germany, to try again at a local dealer there just in case. But I wouldn't bet on it happening tbh.
