You might be one of the first people to get that update. Do you have a pic of the dealer version menu so I could compare other software versions. Also what W213 do you have?
My car is a W213 220d from 20th of May 2016 and here is the dealer menu. Freshly updated yesterday
Are these updates available for all years? My 17 E300 has the old version (00.61.00.20) I asked my sales guy if there were any updates after reading this thread and he said it was up to date.

He is lying to you. My car is older than yours and has gotten the newest update
LOL, ok good to know. Is this dealer updated or can it be pushed to the car thru the unit itself? Thanks
Dealer must do the update. It is not a trivial task.
My '18 E300 has 05.00.80.20. I have no issues so why update? AFAIK the updates fix bugs that occur with certain feature combinations not provides new features. Updates remove discovered bugs and hide new ones.

Did it fix the horrible google assistant voice interaction on Android auto? It keeps getting muted on my car

its mostly bug fixes and improvement to how it runs.... like most updates to most things. But it does add features. My 2016 model was not able to run MB navigation alongside carplay(they probably thought one would use carplays navigation) but now it can.
it had also mapped buttons differently plus the touch buttons on the steeringwheel now works with carplay(previously only the media dial would interact with carplay)
and for the bugfixes... it runs much more smooth and fast now. So a very welcome update for me

JakeW213 is your Easy Entry feature working? Mine is not on 4.080. my steering wheel used to rise up and away when I turned off the engine or entered the car, but now it doesnt, wondered if its fixed on your version?

I wouldn’t know as my car does not have this feature to begin with - But I guess that ua549 answered your question.
last week I got my car back from the dealer (MY16 W213 220d). My easy entry started to play up, steering wheel would not go down sometimes after start up.
Also problem with windows not closing up in auto mode (had to hold the button up) and one wheel pressure sensor is telling me that I have a flat tyre, but I don't.
They have told me that they have updated the software to fix the easy entry problem.
as mentioned here above the software is (at least ) at 05.00.80.20, so it seems you have a very old version - IE: they did not update anything
i had several updates since i got the car 3 years ago and are now at 04.80.00.20 - so stil higher than you...
As I thought, but wanted to have another "independent" opinion before I would say out loud.... Why the FrontDoor would you tell me that you have made a software update, when you did not.... And why the **** did you delete the memory on my seat preset??????
It took me so long to find the perfect position and now I have to do it again...................................
in order to support the multicolor ambient light, command update is not enough. There is a possibility to open the menu item, but it won't work, you need to do coding in the block under glovebox. Don't remember the name, starts with HLxxx. The easiest way is to find a car with that function, backup coding bytes, and upload into your block. 1 hour work, should cost 100$ No SCN coding required.

2020 Update
I've been following this thread for a while.
I have a 2017 E300 (w213) on 00.61.00.20 and after months of back and forth with the dealership about the update and how I had the latest and how new updates could cause problems and bugs, I pushed them and got the update to 5.80.00.00.
Things I've noticed so far as some were stated in previous posts
Positives
Bigger Icon home menu
Ability to turn off NFC
Caller ID in HUD
Battery remaining of connected bluetooth phone on the top right of the screen
Updated ambient light screen
Slightly faster interface/boot
Meshed side cameras during parking assist
Slightly better navigation menu
Better sound processing and loudness (better quality)
Negatives
Android Auto still 2/3 screen
Easy entry/exit still steering wheel only
Overall I would absolutely recommend the update, these are the things I've noticed so far and will update if I find more.
Old firmware New firmware Larger icons Meshed side cam view Battery in the corner
2018 E400 Wagon, P3, Cavansite Blue Metallic, Designo Interior
Thanks for the info, folks! I've "lurked" on the forum for a few years and decided to join today.
Anyhow, I brought my 2017 E300 in for Service B today and mentioned "static" in the Command system. My SA immediately and without any push from me updated the software and it is, as described in previous posts, a very nice upgrade for 2017 model. It's very nice to use steering wheel controls on Apple Car Play. Interesting side effect: my auto stop/start is much more responsive in that it engages more easily at stop lights, etc. Whether that is good or bad I'll leave up to the individual reading the post - I'm sure there are lots of opinions on that function!
