Just retrieved my car after having first service at 14 months, 7100 miles.
Both Navi and COMAND were updated to ver. 14.0 and ver. 3.76.00.10 respectively. All user data from previuos versions was lost.
Before your next update save all your data first on a usb, then you can reload tobexactly same settings after update.

One should back up their data prior to any service visit. There is a menu item for it. A backup or restore only takes a few seconds.

Good advice, and I actually did backup to a USB flash drive prior to having the updates done, but deided not to restore the old data. The cell phone has to be reattached, so my contacts and call history transferred with that connection. I don't use the text function in the car. Many (most even) of my Navigation destinations should have been deleted anyway, and it only took a few minutes to reselect my preset radio choices. So the only "chore" was resetting my personal preferences and choices, many of which were the default settings. Those of you in rbrylaw's OCD club should appreciate the fresh and totally uncluttered version now installed...
From the RO, "Performed 2018010008 campaign. Performaned COMAND update and physical copy of owners manual to customer." As far as I can tell, the only reason the update was necessary was because "digital owner's manual may not meet production specs." A new physical copy of the owner's manual (which is actually called an Operator's Manual) was included. Interestingly, I have never used either the paper or COMAND versions of the operator's manual, using instead a PDF copy downloaded from MBUSA. In any event the COMAND software version went from 01.70.01.00 to 03.76.00.10, so other updates may have been included. I just don't know what they are.

Guys, could you please somebody confirm that the above update modify the Progressive dashboard's design...
It should be looks like this: (notice the fuel level is under the dashboard, there is water temp bar, and the gear status is on the right side, also it is possible to set the assistant to be at the middle of the dash)
My car has the SW version 01.67.08.20 version (seems very old), and it has different Progressive screen. Can not set the assistance to the middle, only to the left side, also there is no water temp shown.
That is why I'm planning to make a full firmware update (even I got manage the Comamnd online upadte using mercedes me service, but I cannot update the main unit FW update at home), even it is gonna cost me some money.
The car is e220d 4matic, estate S213, 2017.04.
Wow... I would love that. Even though I like the look of Sport, I might return to progressive if I could get more info on the screen. Adding assist to the center portion would certainly free up more info for the left side.
Any chance the OP can post more pictures of what you can now do on the left side while having assist in the center?
Lastly, hopefully this isn't a regional thing.... I notice your display is in Celsius and the date is "backwards" (ha ha).... so Im guessing you're not in the US?
Still going to suck, though... my wife's 2020 GLS-450 will (hopefully) be here in less than a month and I know she will rub MBUX in my face

Yep, that's why I wanna update, I love the Progressive screen very much, but missed this functions like the water temp, and the center position of the assistant.
Trying to figure out which version does the trick.
Got a German Language Display Left Side is Travel, Right Eco View. From the Left now you can add the Assistent View 4.80.00.20 updated YESTERDAY 2020/01/23. So it must be the latest. Right side with Navigation looks also much better Right side: Consumption View

I was prior this on 0.59.00.10 - so for me it was a pretty big jump, and i got a lot new functions now. Also i have payed 90 Euros for this to my dealer - but I think its a good investigation, because after the facelift is released I would guess there will no further (needful) updates.

Seems everything the same, except the DOM version which I believe even newer. Notice that I cannot put the Assistance to the middle, only to the left. Notice, that there is no Water temp bar, and the gear status is in the middle.
I dont know what going on here, maybe it is somethig region related?
My car originally made for the German market, I bought it in last year november, in Germany. So, the dash should look the same....
90EUR is a very friendly price for the opdate, I paid ~120EUR here in Hungary. Which is funny, bacause Hungary is much more poor country. Seems my dealer over priced this to me. Grrrrrr feel pissed off.
ok thats really weird - seems like it have not updated the progressive view after all. My Update took over 3 hours - the software update itself - how long took yours? There must have been gone something wrong.

The update took around 3 hrs altogether.
First they come out, said ok, it is done, but I checked the SW version menu, and it was the same like before. They started over again, and after additional 2 hrs I checked that every version number are updated.
But still, there is no such as Progressive style like yours.
I don't know what can I do more.....
Maybe can you please ask your dealer about it? I meant maybe there is some trick what I can tell to my dealer....

Ok I have talked to my dealer, he told me that you should go to your dealer and talk to your service manager. This one can open a service request for you at Mercedes and tell them about your issue.
Mercedes Service Support should know what’s best to handle this software bug.

Well I gonna try it. I am afraid they gonna know nothing about this. Even, they did not know where are the SW versions info in the menu. They keep talked that it must be something region related issue. Maybe I gonna call the local Mercedes service center and send the pics.
Can you pls confirm that before this update the Progressive style was different ? So after it, you able to set the Assistance screen to the middle of the dash? Did you get any printed document about the update what I can show them? Thank you in advance.

I had my COMAND updated this past week in my 2017 with P3 and a HUD. Made a huge difference in the overall usability:
Before the steering wheel pad would not control in CarPlay. It now works like it should, giving me full control of the media system.
I now have the new "look" of the GUI, with the big icons and revised text captions.
My HUD now shows incoming phone calls on the windshield, even in CarPlay - which it did not before. Great feature and super helpful.
Somehow, the system now sounds better using the same settings as before (in the EQ). Seems like some processing was adjusted.
Bluetooth connects automatically (it didn't before), and it now shows all my iPhone playlists and upcoming tracks. I didn't have that before.
It's faster to boot and use...
Something else: my surround view camera options were revised. I have a different look for the front rims angle. Instead of it showing just the rims - it now shows a topview of the sides of the car. Pretty cool actually and will help in parking or drive-thrus.

can you verify the versions that your system is now running? I want to be able to show my dealer.
want all those features but if it fixes the issue with the steering wheel touchpad and CarPlay, that will be worth it alone. It was useless as the focus moved way too fast, but only in CarPlay.
If you don't remember how to check software version, from the COMAND home screen, move the cursor to VEHICLE (but don't enter the menu), then hold the rotary button near the touchpad for at least 10 seconds then release and it will take you to the dealer menu

I just went and tried it twice... I cannot access the version now that the system is updated. I was able to access it prior to last weeks update.
Does anyone know how to check it now?
