While this would be very welcome, we kid ourselves if we think Mercedes will simply flip a switch in our existing cars when or if this comes to fruition in the US. They will however, be VERY happy to sell us a new car.
So, if the proper software was available, no additional hardware would be necessary in order to convert....correct?
Actually, the Euro version of the headlights would be needed. There are hardware differences. There is at least one report of a successful conversion, for $12,000. https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/...ml#post7702382
$12K???? No thanks. My Intelligent lights are better than any I've had in any car as they are. There's no frigging way I'd invest that type of money in a retrofit.
Is there a software change or update to enable full intelligent LEDs in the new E-Class with the ILS? (P02)

Hello
this may be interested to US/CA mb owners who have 213/238/257/205/205FL/253/253FL/166/292 MY2016+ cars with SA640+SA608 datacard codes (limited headlamps operation = IHC)
I tested the "true Multibeam = IHC plus" activation at MY2016+ cars with SA640 headlamps and SA608 datacard code
after activation full led 640 headlamps will work exactly as EU/US SA642+628
activation takes about 1 minute and you can revert it back with the same module in 1 minute (and also activate again as many times as you need when you aware of warranty issues)
this is the video how the activation works
tuneOBD box can be mailed no problem, not necessary to go to dealer
when interested then contact me with your car VIN number to my email: canfiltermb@gmail.com

I think W213 is tested in my car and you told me it is working. or are you talking about something else?
In the US? At this time there is not. Only recently has the NHTSA even recommended the use of the European system to use the full intelligent lights and it still has to go for public comment and full ratification before completely permitted. Then we have to see if we even have the very same lights in our cars they do in Europe AND if MBUSA will consider offering reprogramming of our lights if we do.
If it costs MB another penny per vehicle they’ll never do it. MB is fast becoming the GM of Europe. IMO the current version of the E class
(W213) may have more gadgets than its predecessor but the W212 was a better built car and a 6 cylinder engine was standard and was perhaps the best engine MB ever built. Now if you want horsepower out of a Benz they have to hang a blower on it. Welcome to progress.

Hi, just saw this thread. Would you mind educating me on the difference between the european vs us intelligent lighting...what do u mean by full? Thanks
I can vouch for Vladimir's update and the value of the full intelligent headlight system. I live in the Texas Hill Country, where the roads are dark, bendy, and full of deer. These full function headlights are really worth it here. Now if MB would only add the infra red camera system.....

IIRC Mercedes used to offer the Night View Assist Plus package but for some reason eliminated it from the E class & GLE class models. It is still available on the S class and similar models.
Received my module today and attempted the install per the video instructions. Did anyone else get this message ? I've emailed Vladimir, and I'll post his response when I get this sorted out. Looking forward to getting this working.

yes that is step one. Backup factory settings before the upgrade. You should have received written steps from Vladimir. They’re a little difficult to follow but generally sufficient.
