Cleaning the interior

Cleaning the interior
Unfortunately with how snowy and muddy Calgary is, my interior has gotten a bit dirty. I have the macchiato beige/saddle brown interior and it seems the floors seem to be getting dirty lately. The sides of the floor/carpeting are pretty dirty as well as the bottom of my passenger door panels. it’s a bit of a pain in the a** and I’d like to clean the interior. What sort of products do you guys use to clean the flooring and the surrounding carpeting and the door panels?

The seats and rest of interior I use Griots Garage interior cleaner with a brush. It get foamy, it’s basically soap water.
Floor mats i use a brush and dish soap. In the summer I pull all 4 out, scrub them down, hose them off, air dry outside.
Do you use your carpet floor mats all year round up in Canada???

my designo carpets are stored in my garage right now and for winter i use weather tech floor liners that my dealership threw in for free.

they're good for winter since they also cover the sides of the footwells and they were laser made for the e class and they're easy to clean

As gorgeous as the interior looks, it's really hard to keep it clean to be honest. I've also been thinking of spending the money to get an interior ceramic coating done since the interior gets dirty very easily.
thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into ordering the griots garage interior cleaner since it's starting to bother me that my interior is getting dirty.

You can keep that interior clean, you might have to clean it more often. A lot of cars years ago had white interiors. We don’t see them as much nowadays.
White just shows EVERYTHING

My interior (E400S) is macchiato beige/black. I swear by Griots's interior cleaner and microfiber pads to keep seats clean. BUT I have MB All Season rubber floor mats. I live in MD and can't believe that anyone in Canada would be running carpeted floor mats, especially in winter. Every car I've owned my 1st task is to replace those with OEM or WeatherTech replacements.

rbry, I do the same thing. the carpeted mats are in the trunk - I have the same all weather mats. much easier to keep clean, even in relatively sunny NC.
to the OP, once you get things clean, you may want to investigate the OEM all weather mats...

im doing the same because I didn’t want to get the designo mats dirty since it started snowing A few days before I took delivery so I made the dealership give me weather tech floor lines for free before taking delivery. The original designo mats are currently in the trunk

I have both the MB floor mats and trunk mat and both have the Mercedes logo on them, so for me, I prefer that. I'm sure the weather tech mats are good as well, but they won't have the logo.

A 1/2 warm water and 1/2 white vinegar mix in a spray bottle will help with nasty & crusty road salt stains if there is any build up. Unfortunately had to resort to this in my wife’s SUV after I caught her making a mess. Full instruction set here.
I have installed Weathertech mats since Lexus OEM mats were useless at containment.

mine have the Mercedes-Benz logo on them but I got them from the dealership so depending on where you get it from your mileage may vary. If you get them from weathertech’s website they don’t have the Mercedes-Benz logo.

My solution? Don't drive it in the snow or rain...only dry weather. That's what the Honda's for.

Living in Arizona, rain's not a problem most of the time. I like carpet at my feet so I keep the original mats. Doesn't feel as luxurious with rubber! I'm not driving a jeep!
I just replace them when they wear out, which takes a while.

Thanks bud. I might go the WeatherTech route direct from their site. I'm feeling a little overkill from all the emblems around the car. Then again, it could be worse: it could be a BMW M series. OMG those little Ms are all over the place and total overkill.

Night and day difference! Beautifully done. However, you better get a brush and comb the carpet strokes in the exact same direction or Rod will be very disappointed!
