Worth waiting for a 2020

Hi. Any speculation on what’s coming in 2020? I’m contemplating ordering an E Class and can wait a bit if there’s a good reason. The dealer told me a hybrid may be coming. Thanks

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it true the 2021 models will be equipped with surface to air rocket launchers as well as .50 caliber machine guns fixed to the chassis? Man, I'd would really wait for that in 2021!
Good luck to you!

I test drove an E-class wagon on Saturday and my sales person gave me a 2020 order guide (wagon only) but it should have the same packages as the sedan. When I get home tonight I'll post it up on this thread.

I was able to grab it from my email account but apparently my order guide is 6.6 mb and the forum has a 5 mb limit so can't post it. Let me see if I can post it via a link tonight from home.

Not much difference, think the new 4 cylinder is a mild hybrid.

A quick look at the 2020E Class DOG seems to confirm that there will not be an inline 6 or MBUX in the sedans. Oh well, was going to look at the GLE anyway, which has both.

Nobody has expected the US 2020 models to have MBUX. The discussion has been whether the facelift 2021s will. My bet is they won't. MBUX requires so many new sensors and other changes that it has to be designed into the car, not added on. Note that when the facelifted C came out this year, without MBUX, the excuse was, "the electrical architecture of the car is based on the same one used for the E-Class and S-Class." The chances are very slim that the 2021 E-class will have MBUX, in my opinion.

Wow, looks like very few visible changes between the 20's and the 19's. I'll bet though there are some hidden changes such as improved Distronic and other software upgrades, perhaps a better voice command capability. I know the difference between the 2018's and 19's was a lot even though you could not see the differences. There were many positive software programming changes that took place. Every year these cars evolve to be better. I just wish they'd use stronger wheels, lol. Way too soft and that's been going on for many years. Any other car I've never had bent rims.

That is why they do facelifts, the GLC is based on the same architecture as the C and it got MBUX for 2020 facelift. There is no reason to think why the E-Class, their bread and butter car won't get it. The C-Class likely didn't get MBUX because of the cost in doing so considering it will be replaced sooner/before the GLC and E-Class models will be. No MBUX on the E would be a huge oversight.

Well, the SUVs are selling the best in western countries. Its in asia (esp china) where the C and E are selling the most, and there the long wheelbase versions are the ones selling. Therefore infotainment isn´t top priority with the sedans as they are used as chauffeur driven cars more and more. So the w213 not getting mbux is a real possibility, the market is changing. If the facelift GLC was available before buying my w213 I would have gotten it because of the eq boosted engine and mbux, with the added practicality.

I ordered a 2020 E450 sedan today, here in California. Well almost. I want the premium Burmester sound system (option 811), but it didn't show up on the dealer's ordering computer. Only the standard Burmester shows up (option 810). The DOG I have shows the 811 as an option, but in the details section of the DOG only the 810 is described. The person who places the final order for my car is out for a couple of days and he'll resolve whether the high-end sound system is available or not when he gets back.

UPDATE: My order went in with the 810 option. Perhaps later in the year the 811 option may appear, or not. Build start date for my car is July 3.
