iOS 13 and CarPlay
For anyone who is going to install iOS 13.... I did so today to see the great new CarPlay layout. It would load and show in the right screen for about 15 seconds then disconnect.
After some trial and error, discovered I had to force reboot COMAND. After COMAND came back up, CarPlay has been stable the rest of the day.
Just posting so nobody else has to figure out how to fix that problem.

Its not provider specific. You can have any carrier you choose, it is part of either a developer Beta testing profile, or public Beta testing profile. All you need is an iPhone and then sign up for it, by searching on the line on how to access it early.

iOS 13 is still two months away from release and it shows on CarPlay. After a few trips, It's back to crashing again after about 15 seconds connected to COMAND. My guess is it's iOS' fault being it's a beta but there's a small chance it something that will need to be updated by MB when the iOS 13 is released. My wife went on a trip with her car, which is the only other car in the house with CarPlay. When she comes back I'll see if the crashing happens in her car, too.

Most likely it's the Beta causing the problem. Love the split screen! Big improvement.

I'll be honest, unless they paid me I'd never be a guinea pig, beta tester. To subject my phone to bugs and crashes just to provide free feedback to Apple or whomever isn't worth the aggravation. I'll wait till fall as well

Flawlessly. It was crashing a lot during the beta cycle and throughout 13.0 and 13.1 it would crash and reset itself. I think it had to do with moving the cursor with the touchpad. After 13.1.1 it stopped crashing. Obviously it was fixed on iOS' side as there was no software update from MB.
Even as of the second 13.0 beta in late June, my favorite feature is the garage door popping up on the CarPlay home screen and I can just click it to open. Not that it's a giant pain to reach up to the rearview mirror to push a button :-)
