Welcome! Please post a photo of the E200.

I just checked my W166 GLE. Easy entry/exit is found using the steering wheel buttons and viewing the multifunction display. The only choices are active or inactive. Reading the operator's manual, the only feature mentioned for easy entry/exit is steering wheel. No mention of seat movement. Your car appears to be functioning normally.

HI thanks for the prompt reply, but it doesn't explain why the seat comes forward when I open the door?????

Are you accidentally touching the seat memory button when opening the door?

Agree with UA549. Try resetting the seat memory with the engine running and door closed. Turn the vehicle off, exit the vehicle and lock it. Walk away so the radio contact is lost with the key fob, then re-enter the vehicle. What happens?

The seat back moves forward when easy exit activated to put you in a more sitting up position and therefore supposedly easier to get out. Steering wheel lifts to create space. What you describe is how it should work. Only way to make it go back would be through your intervention

Thanks for the reply, but it can't be normal for the drivers seat to move forward when you open the door to exit the vehicle ?????

The seat should move back, but only if your driving position is fairly far forward. Otherwise it does not move, but only raises the steering wheel. It sounds like you have a bad seat controller. You might experiment by storing a seat-forward position and then opening the door. See if the seat moves back. Then store your normal position and see what it does.
