W213 E400 - E53 Rear diffuser conversion

Hi All, does anyone know or had any experience with trying to replace or retrofit the standard E400 rear diffuser with the one off of the E53 sedan? I love the quad exhaust look the E53 has and just wondering if its a direct replacement?
Link below provided for the parts I'm looking at.

Thanks!

I'm interested in knowing as well. There are a few after market diffusers that are cool and the OEM AMG diffusers out there. Have you done this yet? I assume it's fairly easy.

No I haven’t done it yet, I really want to use OEM parts and my local dealer is pretty useless as they only search parts based on vin number. But I’m waiting for spring as I’m in Canada and it’s winter. If you find something let me know though.

It could be done easily
Ive done it to my coupe, and the same is the sedan, but different parts
I have part number for coupe only
If you need them for sedan, you should find any E53 sedan at the dealers place and take the photo of its VIN number, under the windshield. And after ask the dealer to find the parts you need using this VIN number

Yes it will
E43 has the same rear parts as any E-class (rear bumper, diffuser etc) in AMG package. except exhaust tips

Do you know where to get the 2020 OEM diffuser and pipe tips? I was at my dealership and couldn't find any help from parts yesterday. Thanks

use the link from the first post
or do like I told before. Find the E53amg vehicle at the dealership and take the pic of the vin number. Then use it at the parts department
I don't know part #s for sedan, sorry. I drive coupe, so there are different parts used

Or you can order replica parts from china, I have seen them in real life and the quality is great, like OEM

Can someone please confirm. I just bought E43 2017 wagon (pics will follow next week once I get it) and I would like to change to E53 exhaust tips. Do I need the tips only or do I need to replace the difusor aswell?

Thanks!

Have you finished this???
You need to replace all. I have an 18' E43 and am doing the 53 Rear Diffuser. I've seen it done two ways but rest assured it's a breeze if you have or can use a lift for the job. Doesn't look difficult, just tedious. There's multiple YouTube videos on it. Essentially, you build the the tips right into the diffuser , as it comes separate on most packages.

Just joined the forum, and the first two mods on my to-do list is to swap in the w213 e53 AMG diffuser and quad tips on my 2020 E450. Just can’t understand why MB builds blank exhaust vents on these cars. My second mod is to swap out the front grill with a w213 panamericana AMG grill.

both items have been ordered and should be arriving in a week or two.

will post before and after pics when these are installed… I may create a mod thread for these just to capture things and help out others interested in similar mod.

Just wanted to add input to this as I just completed a full OEM E53 AMG gloss black rear diffuser and exhaust tips on my 2018 E43. This is for prefacelift W213 sedans only with rear sport bumper; wagons and coupes are different. The facelift model has a different bumper and different diffuser, so this will only apply to prefacelift applications.

I purchased all components in gloss black. If you prefer chrome, the part numbers would be different for some of these items.

Exhaust Tip Screws - 006-990-06-12 (need 4 qty)
Rear Diffuser - 213-885-24-01 (gloss black)
Center Trim - 213-885-45-01 (gloss black)
Left Trim - 213-885-47-01 (gloss black)
Right Trim - 213-885-48-01 (gloss black)
Left Exhaust Tip - 213-490-66-05 (gloss black)
Right Exhaust Tip - 213-490-68-05 (gloss black)
Left Exhaust Tip Surround 213-885-57-04
Right Exhaust Tip Surround 213-885-58-04
Bumper Holder 213-885-44-01
Left Exhaust Tip Bracket 213-885-55-04
Right Exhaust Tip Bracket 213-885-56-04

You'll also need a rivet gun and 10 rivets (get a pack of different sized rivets), and a quality set of drill bits to drill out your existing rivets.

I'm usually against altering my vehicles, but this is the very next change I will be doing. The stock diffuser is just disappointing.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. I can't express that enough lol

By the way, was removing the rear bumper entirely necessary or can it be done lying on the ground with airmatic raised?
And how much did the parts cost after everything?

P.S. We've got the same car (but I've got night package)

Nice! All E43's come night package, including mine.

Pricing could be anywhere from $1700-2400 depending on where you source your parts.

I dont recommend installing the diffuser with the bumper on the car as you won't be able to access the rivets.

Oh wow...

I think my E43 will have to be happy with an Ebay replica kit instead.

Yeah seriously. Once I get my money up I can't wait to install one.

I look forward to updating y'all on how the installation of an eBay/AliExpress/Amazon replica kit goes and the quality of the parts.

The stock E43 diffuser is really disappointing. They didn't play with the looks of the car enough. And the matte plastic.. yes my car is 8 years old but it has noticeably faded under the Texas heat, a little bit.

My car is a 2017 Luxury Model so OEM definitely wasn’t an option. Here’s an Aliexpress diffuser instead. I’m not a fan of the glossy black because it would shows dirt and scratches too much. Wanted carbon fiber look, however that was only available with black chrome exhaust pipes so that’s what I went with. Wanted chrome, however would have had to go with glossy black diffuser. I ended up having to pay for insulation as the rear bumper has to be removed for installation.

That’s exactly what it’s modeled after, a world of difference between this and stock OEM Luxury model diffuser and exhaust tips.

That looks like a pretty good fit! It's great what a simple diffuser can do to the overall look. I personally will go with a glossy black (to match the rest of the E43's Night Package) E53 replica setup.

What do you mean by insulation?

I was able to get the old diffuser and exhaust pipes off, however the new exhaust pipes were too wide for installation without the bumper being taken off

AliExpress diffuser on my wagon. Install was not too hard and I was able to do it without removing the bumper, hardest part was drilling holes for the parking sensors Looks ALOT better than the stock one.
