Miles range incorrect after Service B

Recently had Service B performed. After picking up the car, I noticed that the screen in the dash cluster was now stating Service A overdue.
Dealer had a hard time resetting it and it necessitated contacting engineering and it turns out there is a software patch to the Power Train Control Unit. That took care of that problem. Now I notice that the screen in the cluster which tells me how many miles I can go on what is left in the tank is way off. It always was around 300 (give or take) miles on all local driving. Now, it started off at 525 and is slowly moving down. Now it’s showing 466. Something happened during this software patch that created this. I will be letting the SA know about this. Anyone else have this problem?

Don't you think it's just the computer "learning" what your average mileage is and the type of driving you're doing? If you mean 300 miles to empty after filling the tank, that sounds /extremely/ low. Unless you're always doing just local driving, using up a lot more gas. So the computer may be just assuming a more normal range, and slowly learning what it should be instead.

Only local driving. Yes, 300 miles to empty. Purchased this car brand new for the wife in Nov 17. Always kept this screen on to see mpg bar. Wife has a heavy foot. Just odd that all of a sudden it shows way more range than it ever had in the past. The only thing that changed was a software update as I mentioned below. I really wonder if this was a consequence of that update.

But again, don't you think that the update reset the history of previous MPG, and it simply has to re-learn the average for you? In which case, yes it is a consequence of the update, but no different than buying a new car. And, I would think, nothing to worry about nor bother the dealer with.

I’m watching it and letting the fuel in the tank dwindle to almost nothing before I fill it up again. I’m sitting with 35 gallons of premium in cans in my garage that I purchased in event of the hurricane which now won’t hit Naples. I’ve had 2 oil changes before and it was never affected. Just found it odd that it was this time. I thought that it might be the update to get rid of the Service A overdue message that created it as it is the only thing that was done differently from all other Service visits. Again, I found it odd that I had Service B done this time and I ended up leaving with a Service A overdue message that needed some reprogramming to get rid of because a reset in the normal way did not work for the dealer.
