New S Class has interior has been revealed....next C class will follow similar design... better get your E class now, if you prefer the current design!

I think the current design is more attractive visually. Does it bother anyone else that the 4 air vents aren't centered over the infotainment screen? (see pic below). That's the first thing that caught my eye.

This is why I have no plans to get rid of my much loved W201.
I have no problem with the Luxury look of the E-class with the traditional grille and Mercedes star on the hood, as long as the lower front bumper has the AMG aero package paired with some nice AMG wheels, like on my current E550 W212.

Jump, I expect I would notice the mid-aligned vents every time I got in the car.

I think that might be an optical illusion.

Might be so it looks better from the driver's perspective?

I think it most likely is a sloppy artist’s rendering. But given the design skills behind that iPad central display, I wouldn’t count on it.

No. This is an official Mercedes-Benz real-deal image.

I do not like having an iPad type device attached to the dash or the center console.

If it is accurate then the remaining explanation is sloppy design work. Given the quality of the E Class facelift I guess that is entirely possible.

I don't like the vents to begin with, nor the location. IMO they look out of sorts for being the main vents on such a high end vehicle.

ended up picking up a c43 today! considering the e facelift doesnt have much to offer. Ill drive the c43 AMG until the complete new E class comes around - hopefully they listen to our complaints/recommendations!

new E class seems nice but next to the current generation it looks like a downgrade. I am not saying that because i am biased. I really want to like it more but i cannot.
Here are some of my issues with it
- No Analog Clock
-The rear light look like a Camry (below), I think they went above and beyond with the current lights and the star dust (not sure what it is called) effect
-The Headlights look higher end in the current e class

Agreed. You would have thought that they could have gotten way more creative. It sort of looks like they had the whole design finished and then someone said “we forgot the air vents,” and somebody just glued them up there and said “done!”

Thanks! its a blast to drive as well. Its definitely a change of pace and exciting to drive. One would think its not necessary, but that thought changes quickly after a test drive!

Have I spotted the 2021 W213 facelift??

My mistake. Its a Honda.
I like the current taillights because they don't look like eveyone else.

Lowering the car to improve ride quality is probably NOT the case. Improve high speed stability and lower cd. (wind resistance) were the reasons given. Remember this axiom: "Cars sit on their springs and drive on their shocks (dampers)"

Because of the relatively smooth roads in Germany, the standard "Sport" suspension is optimized for high speed driving (100-250 kph). The USA roads are much rougher and what has been lacking in most models is carful attention to the short, quick motion of the shock absorbers. This low modulation, high frequency damping need to "blow off" shock valve pressure to a greater degree than is common for EU roads. It is also a tuning tweak that is often ignored by consecutive generations of Mercede's various chassis development programs. The first C-class suspension was awful in the back, by the W204 the sport suspension was 'spot on'. The W212 was very good also.... along comes the W213 and this problem of choppy ride in the sport suspension re-appeared. Have not driven the facelift, but this is the one area I hope was addressed.

I found the W213 Sport ride quality so objectionable I went out of my way to secure a Classic version. The Classic is not something you want to turn-in at 100mph with any hope of precision or quick control response, but it is the superior everyday suspension choice. Eventually I will fit it with a set of Bilstein B6 and have Bilstein (Polway) tweak the rear damping to eliminate this choppy ride 'feature' yet offer better high speed stability. The second axion for today is: "There is nothing like low friends in high places."

Can't do the giant grills, looks ridiculous. Pre-refresh was much better looking, although very forgettable, not to mention the 7er hasn't been sporty for a while. Problem with BMW is the 3-series is what defines them so when it comes to their flagships the quality is there but the design is dated and plain. BMW's interior are finally nice again though in the new X5 and X7. Last 7er I really liked was the E38 and E65 Facelift, since then they've been very boring.

I don't think the grills are that big, nothing like Lexus Agree, the pre refresh was a bit nicer. The new X5 has a significantly nicer interior than my 2018 but I think the exterior of my 2018 is nicer than the 2020. I really dislike the tail lights of the new gen X5.

They're big, but the X7 shows that they can work, the problem with the 7er is that they're an afterthought, and the 7er was designed with the previous deisgn language and now they are trying to infuse the new language on an older design so blending the two doesn't work as well, and for us with front plates it looks like an overbite . I definitely agree on the X5 new one is great inside, but not so much outside, BMW is having a bit of an identity crisis at the moment when it comes to styling and the driving dynamics, that's the reason I actually have an MB, I've been with BMW since the 90's and my parents had many growing up. Ever since 2012, other than the 2-series they just refuse to make a good driving car, they gave into the profits over their loyal customers. I had a 2017 540i that I inherited, and it drove like a Buick, a friend told me to try the new E53, and was shocked to see MB can make a better handling sedan than BMW, the rest is history, even got the wife to get a GLC over an X3 and she's had Bimmers for years as well.

Agreed, BMW is not producing the sexy inspired cars of the 90's and early 2000's that they used to make. I love my X5 diesel, the 3.0 litre diesel is perfect for an SUV. I'm averaging 31.8 MPG with mixed driving (real numbers not from the computer) and the engine is so torquey. Alas, thanks to VW we'll never see another diesel car/SUV in the US from any of the German manufacturers. I've also owned several BMW's and Volvo's. I loved the Volvo's being produced in the early 2000's until about 2016. I've had an XC90 V8, S80 V8 and an XC70 T6 before getting my X5. The new 4 cylinder engines suck and Volvo has lost me as a customer. My wife has had the original X3 followed by the MB GLK. She is thinking of updating and getting the GLB, she like boxy SUV's not the rounded GLC which replaced her GLK. I've never owned a MB before but will at the end of the year when my X5 lease ends and I'm going to get a left over 2020 E450 wagon. I'm on the fence between the sport or luxury wagons. I like the look of wagons and I have two Greyhounds so a wagon is a must for me. I have test driven the 2020 Audi A6 Allroad and really liked it. It was smooth (standard air suspension) and a very nice smooth and powerful 6 cylinder engine. Unfortunately, it fails on the space mission by only having 45 cu ft of space with the rear seats folded down. That is pathetic for a mid-size wagon and only slightly worse than the Volvo V90 which only has 53 cu ft.
