New E Class in the flesh! Looks better in person as expected. Very different angles and curves makes the car look more modern. The back just blends in, nothing really outstanding but it works.
Front doesn't look bad aside from the hood-line, rear still is a bit too plain for my liking.
The rear of the car was such a failure, they fully restyled the rear. no other benz in the history that I know of has had such a change. They should just go back to the W212 design
I like the newer design taillights better than the older, upswept design, which never grew on me.
That said, the new taillights have been done before, probably by too many manufacturers to mention. Like this...
I suppose there's only so much one can do with taillights. Still I wonder what Mercedes decided was wrong with the unique, ribbon style 4 years ago? At least if you wanted to imitate an older design, it would be more excusable to imitate a previous Mercedes design?
W212 facelift sedan was very good looking car. Especially in black. I owned one and it really gave a "statement" of a luxury car.
I don't like the W213 sedan facelift at all. The wagon is pretty much untouched which is good (as it looks amazing from the rear).
