Very low, IMHO. I was offered 8% immediately on a new custom ordered 2020 in July of last year (before they were out), and ended up getting 12% at another dealer.

My experience is in line with rr’s. I am told sales are strong. Try dealer in worst economic locale. Use USAA price as a guide.

I have the 2021 DOG in PDF format, but it will not let me attach it to the post. It is 20MB. I’ll try again.

Don't say NOT in capital letters about something that you're not familiar with. The new DOGs don't come in pdf's anymore... but can be converted. The problem is with this website is it doesn't take attachemnets for some reason, so I'm unable to upload. However, here are the 2 screenshots.

Well, I sort of thought this might happen, but it’s still a shock: “Luxury exterior styling package no longer available.” Well, MB can kiss my ***! This is the final nail in the coffin for our E Class buying spree. If they can’t offer a luxury sedan that LOOKS like a luxury sedan, rather than a SPORTS sedan, we are no longer an E Class customer. What a shame. I’ll bet a Luxury version will be available in Germany. How sad.

E class is not the luxury sedan, if you want a luxury sedan you should by the S class.

E class has never been a luxury sedan, it's a premium car but not a luxury sedan.
In parts of Europe E class is the most common taxi.

I've owned 4 generations of the E and every one was/is a high end utility vehicle. That is why I moved away from the S. The E is rugged and maneuverable in tight quarters. Over 11 years I put more than 600,000 miles on my W123 with no major repairs; just tires, brakes, lubrication and 1 battery.

Yes, in Germany, E’s have been used as taxis for decades. Four cylinder diesels, with bare bones interiors, built by the factory SPECIFICALLY as taxis. E Class cars & wagons destined for the USA have been outfitted as luxury vehicles for many years now. You and I will have to agree to disagree on this point.

Any car with plastic seats (MBTex) is not luxurious. The E class seats have always been very firm (too firm for many) and harsh riding. Nappa leather (+$4k) helps.

Yes and No. I have had both MBTex and Nappa, and there leather is better. But the MBTex is not an inferior product. As MB likes to say it is the same stuff Louis Vuitton uses on the luggage. Not too shabby. I will agree with you that the standard E Class seats are awful (my word). Most people complain about them, I certainly did. I would get aches and pains on every long trip, but the message seats with the 16 way adjustments are just fine. The thigh support makes for a lot of the difference, the powered bolsters help, and the massage function is fun and relaxing on long road trips. So spend the money and get a few options and you can have a luxury car if that is what ones heart desires.

NOPE UA 549 - your are completely wrong.

This is my second E class with MBTex. Prior to this vehicle all my cars had leather.

Having driven now 5 years, two cars with MBTex, I find it superior to leather in all ways: Soft in winter, cool in summer, easy to clean, wears better and we don't have to kill cows!

I have a reservation on the new Ford Mustang First Edition: no leather is offered as an option. All seats are "vegan". This is the way cars will be so better get used to it!

JTK, I don't have an ethical problem with leather seats, but clearly some folks do and are entitled to their opinion. I find the leather to be more pleasing to the touch, but that is one person's opinion and nothing more. I noted a while back that Thomas on Autogefuhl always makes a negative remark about using leather for seats. And I still like NY Strips.
