There are several threads about spare tires. I purchased mine from a MB dealer. Whatever you purchase make sure the spare tire revs per mile matches that of the tires on your car.
In the case of an E300 with 245/45-18 the matching spare is a 135/70-19. The MB spare wheel does not require shorter lug bolts as most generic spare wheels do. Generic tools will work. I do not recommend purchasing the MB tools because they are several times as expensive as at Walmart.
Here are some specs:
Wheel Size 8Jx18 ET43
Tire size 245/45R18 26.7 revs/mile
Bolt pattern 5x112
Stud Dia & thread size m14 x 1.5
Center Bore 66.6 mm
MB Compact spare: 213-400-06-00 (135/70-19)

Hi, just checking to see if you received any responses on purchasing a spare tire. I am considering going away from the run-flats on my 2015 s class and will also be looking into purchasing a spare. Any feedback you can provide will be appreciaed

this. Or a roadhero kit is what I purchased before modernspare was an option (just under $400 shipped from the UK )

We have 2018 E400 Coupe with 19 inch RFT’s that I wanted to replace with conventional ones. It was such a hassle. No dealer would confirm that the part number for the compact spare would fit my car. MB USA wouldn’t confirm it either.
in the end, I ended up purchasing a reconditioned wheel from Ebay to match the ones on the car. Ended up taking one of the RFT’s and put that on the wheel and will use that as a full sized spare if we take the car on a long trip.
turned out to be easier and cheaper than buying the compact spare.

Above link is what I purchased but not from the people that are selling it here.

If you have a jack, might as well test it out to see if it works for you. My car didn't come with one. I bought my spare tire from https://www.mercedespartshub.com/

The dealer was NO help for me. I found that quite frustrating.

.
Any generic scissor jack with a rectangular flat pad on top will work. The MB has an indented jacking point designed to fit the flat pad. I bought my jack at Walmart. It fits perfectly.

FYI:

I have a 2019 E450. Tires are 245/45X18 run flats. In the event of a flat, I carry a high quality air inflator, in my trunk. Hopefully I will be able to use the inflator to keep the pressure up in my run flats, so as not to ride on the sidewalls and destroy the tires, as I try to limp to a gas station to have the flat fixed.

I have decided not to use the sealant as it will ruin the TPS system and coat the wheels. After two hours, the sealant hardens and I have read that is cheaper to replace the wheel than pay to have the sealant removed.

As to a spare:

Just went to: https://modernspare.com/product/2017...-modern-spare/

and had a chat session:

The sku for the spare is SKU: MERE1726W

The price is $279.95 plus $40 shipping - no tax.

I already have a scissor jack, and other equipment to remove and change a tire.

My problem is that the spare does not fit in the well in the trunk and I really do not want to give up the space in the trunk for the spare.

Hope this helps.
