So MBUSA pushed out a “new and updated” Mercedes Me app this last week. M

it looks like “updated” means they removed the one feature I really liked: Valet mode.

I used it all the time to see if my car was started (when I wasn’t in it) or if it left a geofence or went faster than a prescribed speed.

AARRRGGHHHH! Why do they keep crippling this app??

So back a year or so ago I actually called Mercedes to complain about the app. I couldn’t remote start my car. It kept saying my windows were open. They had me re-pair the car via calling the concierge directly from the car. I don’t think anyone had a clue what was going on. Now they are updating the heck out of the app which is great. BMW and Audi are light years ahead of phone and app connectivity. I’m sure MB will do the same eventually.

Still a piece of junk
The new software deleted my profile, sign-in credentials, etc., all without explanation. A royal PITA to get the service running.

I updated the app today for my '18 E300. I still have:
Driving Journal
Valet Protect
Curfew Minder
Speed Alert
Travel Zones

I have none of those. That is so odd. Or maybe I’m just stupid and don’t see them. How do you find valet mode?

When I picked up my 2019 wagon the concierge guy said the window thing was a common problem and said the fix was to reset the window sensors. I forget how you do that, but it was something like fully opening and closing the windows and holding the switch beyond one of the states for so many seconds. I’m pretty sure I read someone describe the procedure on here once. I had to do that once a few months after delivery. It’s pretty easy.

Do not have the ability to do that. This is what I see. There is no scrolling at the bottom at all.... Are you in the US?

Is that the US app? My screen looks different but I believe I downloaded the one you are using before and had to get rid of it. Mercedes Me(USA) versus Mercedes Me Connect.

The reason why people have different looking apps is because pre 2018, Mercedes started the Mercedes Me stuff which allows you to simply unlock the car, remote start, and create the geo fencing/speed notifications. Then, they rolled out a Mercedes Me with more features, I think called Mercedes Me Connect. This had the same stuff plus also gave you fuel level, maintenance stuff etc, which also linked to your car's driver profile. Anyway, it is super confusing.

I’m using the MM connect. I have a 2019. Up until this update, it had all the valet features. Now they’re gone from the app

Yes, some of the features are missing for now in the new app. They should be coming back, though. Personalization is missing, too. Things like geo fencing and personalization for now can be done on the web portal. The new app is supposed to receive regular and frequent updates moving forward as opposed to the 3-6 months updates of the old app. Time will tell. So far, though, the features that are there seem to be more reliable than in the old app.

And for clarification on the different apps. MY2018 and older are using an even older app called Mercedes Me (USA) and the mBrace online platform. With MY2019 both mBrace and the app have been deprecated and were replaced with the new Mercedes Me connect online platform and a corresponding app with the same name. The latter app is now defunct and replaced with this new app. So for all those with 2018 and older vehicles, this app does not apply to you. It only applies to those with 2019 and newer cars who were using the Mercedes Me connect app. This new app is version 3.x of the Mercedes Me connect app. The previous app was version 2.x and the Mercedes Me (USA) app is essentially end of life at this point and probably will only receive minor bug fixes moving forward.

Good Day All-

I hope you and yours are safe and well.

Any idea how to change the vehicle image in the mercedes me connect app? Mine shows a car with a car cover over it.

Best regards, Tony

You can't. The real image will come in eventually.

maybe you didn't pay the bill yet ? :-)

try this: go to vehicle information and see if the image changes.

because when i checked your problem in my app, i noticed that for a split second i had the picture of a covered car (under vehicle information), but it immediately disappeared.
Maybe this will "toggle" it for you. (Mind you; everywhere else in my app it already showed a non covered car)

If it doesn't work, try reinstalling the app

2019 G 63 Mercedes Me App Update
My phone just updated the new version of the Mercedes Me app and one of the main functionalities that I used every day on the previous version of the app is gone. I used to be able to park my car (while running) and lock the car via the app, and then unlock the car via the app. I have a service animal and this is a feature that I use daily at the end of the day for short trips into the store after he has been working all day. Any ideas on how to over ride this feature?

No, you can't override this. I'm guessing this was technically a bug in the old app, and not a feature. They spent a lot of time on making the features work as intended in the new app and also make them more reliable. I have noticed that the remote control functions are disabled while the car is running, and I think that makes a lot of sense. Since you can setup the app on multiple user's phone, other users shouldn't be able to accidentally or deliberately lock/unlock the car while somebody else is driving it. That's potentially a safety issue. So it makes a lot of sense that these features are disabled when the car has been started with the key and is basically under direct control.

On second thought, here's an idea. How about turning off the engine and locking the car normally and then use the app to remote start the engine. It'll run at least for 10 minutes and I think you get a notification on the phone once it turns off, so you can start it again if you are still away from the car.
