Sounds odd if Augmented reality video on navigation was not available and everything else is there. The point being that augmented video is using the hardware that your car should already have and there never was shortage of software for individual cars. I could understand missing augmented reality video if the smaller screen had been installed (due to the shortage on the larger screen) or if a less capable camera was installed (with certain missing features).
Has to do with the camera I think (or lack of one). As the camera for that isn't available either ( no front video capture). I'd like to have it, but I've used it with a loner and it's a little strange, frankly. Not sure. People seem to be Luke warm about it, saying it's useful for house numbers and such, but disconcerting. Again, who knows.
They also say that the heads-up (HUD) is more useful. I'm curious about what people think. Post your impressions.
As many of us are, I'm coming from a relatively ancient tech car.

it's a very handy feature.., which you can easily do without :-)
I would not choose it as paid option, but for me it came with a pack
i'm more interested in the dashcam feature which for now is stil not "unblocked" in france
note: Somebody please tell me that there's a hack for this EVO. Sounds very annoying, and the cars I have driven with it I didn't like much at the time. I'm thinking it's not a law yet so there's that.
Of course not all cars are going to be the same with how they re-engage. A 'bump' is not good.
With the mild hybrid, the engine restarting should be seamless. It certainly is in my Acura MDX hybrid. Not so much in my c300.
Agreed. I’ve always turned off the eco engine stop on my cars, until I got the 48V hybrid in the E53. Now it’s always on, and love the feature. It’s so seamless.
One other impressive feature to mention..... My car has the DC5 Acoustic Comfort Package. I hesitated to order it due to its high cost but I am thrilled with the package now.
The car is ULTRA quiet. I mean you hear no road noise, no wind noise and no engine noise. Even the windshield wipers produce no sound. My E class is as silent as any S class I have had.
I can enjoy the excellent audio system without any annoying road noise. Also, the special glass reduces infrared solar heat which is another plus for the package.

Right, I got that option myself. Some guy actually measured the UV and said it's pretty much zero except for the back window. So the rear isn't treated, apparently. It's also a bit tricky to do a treatment for the rear because of the heating wires, but it can be done. Not a big deal, I would think. I always thought the wires were in the glass, but it seems they are on the surface. Not sure how that works exactly.

The only hack is to install an OBD device. There are several on the market.

The car arrived in perfect condition. The one fly in the ointment is the EVO slop/go 'feature'. When you stop, the engine turns off. When it starts (instantly!), you feel a bump in the car. There is a button on the console label "A" that defeats the EVO stop/go but it is only in effect for the current drive. It reinstated itself when the car is next driven I find this very annoying. The dealer said they could not deactivate it since it was "environmental".
Congratulations on the new wagon! Any idea if your dealer pulled any strings for shipping/delivery? My AT had a Nov. 21 build date but has been sitting in the port waiting for a shipping assignment for 6 weeks.
My E450 was built 2 11 2022 not expected till end of March.
That's good. But this guy's was like three weeks. His build was second decade Jan, and he got it approx. Feb 8? Pretty darn fast. Yours is probably a month as is mine (or a bit more).
We shall see. Post back on arrival.
Then again, if his went into production Jan10 that would be 28 days give or take.

After placing my initial order in late July 21 for an initial 2nd Decade Oct build...build got delayed twice and entered production 2nd Decade of November and completed production Dec 2nd. It sat around in Sindelfingen until it was shipped on January 4th to Bremerhaven. I'm not sure if it was waiting an entire month for parts/chips or the shipment was delayed due to the two week shut down in December. Regardless, only missing option is the Hands Free Trunk (Boot) Access. I initially ordered the dash cam, augmented reality, and multi contour seats but all three options were blocked by MBUSA when the car was ordered so those options were technically never part of the build.
Car sat at the port until it was assigned a ship on Jan 28th and ship left for the Americas on the 30th. The ship will be arriving at the California Long Beach port on Wednesday the 23rd. Hopefully it will be at my dealership in a week or so.
Update: Car arrived at the dealership a few days later on the 26th. Drove home on the 28th.

Another data point: Ordered E450 AT end of October, original build scheduled third week of December, pushed to third week of February, VIN issued this week, now scheduled to be built next week.
My wagon is now almost 3 weeks old. It has turned out to be far more enjoyable and far better than I expected. The drivability, the comfort, build quality and safety are impressive. The amount of technology in the vehicle is enormous. It is like a computer on wheels. Fuel mileage is above the EPA and it is not broken in yet.
Impressive is how the engine starts. It does not 'turn over" when starting as usual. Instead, push the button and it immediately RUNS as if you were turning on an electric motor. Also, if left in comfort or eco mode, at 50 mph, the engine is turning only 1,100 rpm. Quiet and efficient.

As another bit of data. My E450A Cab was ordered the first week of June '21. It is scheduled for production the 3rd decade of March. My dealer did not get an allotment for a cab until the end of January
Placed order for 2022 E450 Sedan on 3/12/22
The only option that was not available (which I wanted) was the multi-beam headlights.
Vehicle is scheduled to be finished production 1st week of May. With estimated delivery in July.

Fingers crossed its delivered on time and with everything I ordered.
I'm wondering how long these will sit at the plant or port after they are built. Apparently, there's some variability to this. Why there's such variability is also curious.
I've read they will add stuff after the fact, and they do that also at the destination ports.
