E Class Build Time (W213)

So basically a build date doesn't mean much...... "lol"
Should we simply be grateful that we are in relatively good health and our new vehicle will arrive when it gets here?
Take care, get jabbed and wear a mask

this thread is titled "build time" and i merely share the info i have .

However this doesn't seem to mean much as many cars are stuck in Bremen,
I thought this was because of a lack of ships, but apparently Bremen is also a hub for Europe,
and the cars are waiting there for the missing parts before being trucked to their final destination.
some have been stuck there for months....

probably to wait for missing parts (whatever does parts may be).
Stil don't have a VIN so impossible to check if my car will be "complete" when it arrives .
There's a big risk that i will lose wireless charging & augmented reality...
@parkwood is taking delivery of his ECQ in France and he told me that we will no longer have: automatic parallel parking, parking with the phone and automatic lane changing when signalling.
This due to new regulations, (though not sure if only for France or for the whole of Europe )
Only the new S & C class apparently are conform with their "level 5" of autonomous driving.

so far it's on a 3 month delay with original delivery planned for mid july.
when was your delivery planned and when did you place the order ?

The automotive industry is already having a hard time due to the shortage of chips and semiconductors, causing many factories to shut down.
There is now a threat of a new crisis in Europe due to a magnesium shortage.
Autoeditor/HLN 22-10-21, 05:00 Last update: 09:04 Magnesium is essential for aluminum production.
That material is needed on a large scale for building cars. It is used in gearboxes, steering columns and brakes, seat frames, at fuel tanks,
in the bodywork and for many other parts. About 85 percent of global magnesium production comes from China and much of that comes from Yulin City in Shaanxi Province.
But due to an energy crisis, production restrictions have been imposed on many factories there. Of the fifty magnesium factories, only fifteen are still active.
They also run at half power to meet the energy requirements. It will remain that way at least until the end of the year.
No alternatives Analysts warn in The Financial Times that stocks of magnesium in the rest of the world are dwindling rapidly. The German and European car industry,
almost entirely dependent on China for magnesium, threatens to get nothing in November. “There are no alternatives to aluminum production,
” said Barclays analyst Amos Fletcher. “If the supply of magnesium stops, the entire auto industry may be forced to shut down.” In that case, consumers
will have to wait even longer for their new car, while the shortage of semiconductors has already doubled or even tripled delivery times.

No order slot available till end of April with scheduled July build. This order was Yellow lighted (frozen due to parts shortage)
Actual build was September.
Arrived in US part 2 days ago.
Unknown(due to lack of dock workers/truckers) when it will be unloaded or shipped to dealer.

i ordered in april and they also started to build in september.. but still not completed...

and almost 3 months since it came out of the factory, waiting for further parts
My dealer says that 3 months is an average time for a car to wait, though this is based on experience only and by no means exact science ...
I'm only giving the above as "info", not to complain . it is what it is!
Meantime i just drive an A class which they gave me for free - oh these 1st world problems...

My order went in for an AT at the beginning of this month, with a build date late next month. We will see if there are any delays...
When did you submit your order?
That SUCKS. Such a bummer...so sorry to hear about that.
