w213 noise problems
Hi. New here I do have a problem with my e220 2017. Basically when I am driving I can hear all the outside noises. I can hear wind blowing around windows, wheel noise that is really bad, other traffic participants noise, and from the back of the car is coming even a more loud one, almost like I am driving without a trunk. Anyone who has or had this problem? And is there a solution for that? I have been to the dealer that i purchase it but they say that is wheel noise. I know that they are wide but can't be that bad.

I have a hard time understanding what you mean? Is this noises that you don’t hear in other cars?
I would try different things to rule things out... try to borrow another similar car to your own and see of it has the same noises.
my 220d with 342,000 km on it has no noises and I run 255/35-20 on all wheels with wintertyres at the moment

What is the brand and model of the tires? Winter tires are usually excessively noisy as well certain tread designs. tirerack.com has some very good technical info about tire noise. If you are in the EU, check the noise rating - 1, 2 or 3 waves - with 1 being 3dB or more below EU requirements. Studded winter tires are not rated.

I do have 225/55 r17 but I do not know if it is because of that. I will try apply door rubber. I do not know exactly how to explain but you basically just hear everything that is outside when driving on motorway. Wheel sound, wind sound. I know is normal to hear but I think it is a bit excessive for a premium car. EDIT: Oh and all are winter tyres.

I put winter tires on my wagon every year and when they are taken off in the spring the quietness of the non winter tires is very noticeable. Winter tires are noisy and squishy.
They are coming off next month and I cannot wait! It’s like putting on new sneakers!

TireRack has noi se rating for the various tires they sell. It is worth while to review specs for any tires you are considering purchasing. There are significant noise differences between models of the same brand as well as between different brands.

Well the car isnt whisper silent, you will hear road noise and wind noise. The road noise will be very noticable on rough tarmac (like where I live). Not much you can do about it, new tires with lower noise marking can help and check that all the door seals are intact. If you can drive a similar e class and compare, if the noise is about the same your car is fine.

I would say that a w213 is more premium than any american, korean, french car I can think of(if we don’t consider bugatti real french)
But if a premium car in your world consists of rolls royce(bmw) bentley(VAG) Maserati(fiat)
And premium basically comes down to what you pay for it... then a w213 is not up there.
but to me its the best car I have had and even driven

I just turned in my 2018 E400 and took delivery of my 2021 E450, there’s noticeable difference in wind noise on the drivers side window area. I heard nothing in my E400, now I’m hearing wind and road noise. This can be adjusted???

to be fair they do have the same floorplan and the towbar for the c/e are interchangeable between their respective bodyshells. The only difference is that the rear overhang is a bit longer on the e. Front/core/roof architecture is the same….
