Congratulations (I hope)! Out of curiosity, do you know what elements of your car were not supplied? For example, do you have dual 12.3" displays or was the one above the steering wheel changed to the older 10.4" one.

Congratulations on the new ride! It drives like a dream. Here's hoping you have few issues with it.

the deletion of widescreen makes both screens to the 10.25 inch screens, not just the drivers display.

There are a couple of 2022 ATs listed on cars.com with photos...looks like they have the smaller center screen, and a $150 credit.

My order placed in September was pushed back by MB. it now has a build date the second week of January. Expect it to hit the ground at the dealer in in mid February.
BTW, there is no longer any shortage of 12" display screens for the All Terrain wagon line.

We picked ours up just before Christmas but is was indeed missing the 12.2" screens as well as other items. The screens appear to be 10" screens from another model line as functionality is also missing. The dealer has re-ordered our car and will swap it out upon arrival in a few months. There is a thread about missing items here:

ABSOLUTELY! It took MB seemingly FOREVER to start offering this feature, which was available on several other makes, including Chevrolet, for years before MB introduced it. These days, it seems that almost nobody slows down in parking lots and they never seem to stop when they see someone’s back-up lights on, they just zoom into your path. The Rear Cross Traffic Alert feature is a much needed safety device and I would not accept a vehicle without it.

Am I to understand that you took delivery of your new wagon, but due to missing items, the dealer is ordering another wagon for you and will “swap it out?” What does that mean? How will they handle that? Are you going to trade the first wagon in on the second one? Is this going to cost you anything? I would love to know the details, as I have never heard of a dealer offering something like this before. Please elaborate.

The dealership had a car sold (to me) on December 23rd. I feel they were faced with a non-sale just before year end and no way to recover in CY21. I was in the process of backing out of the deal completely because of the missing options. The screens were especially concerning because the dealership did not know about it, and frankly did not even believe it was a real thing until we measured them against another E-Class sedan in the showroom.

The deal was IF I take the current car as is, they would re-order my car with the correct options again. They did some checking and got confirmation from MB that my options and correct screens ARE now available. I was very specific with the dealer that the ONLY reason I picked the E450 optioned this was was to get screens comparable to the current offerings on the Audi wagon.

When the new car arrives, we will do a MSRP swap, meaning that I will pay the $3,770 difference between stickers based on the options. Obviously the car with correct options is more expensive than the one we drove home. I'm sure they will be able to sell this (gently used) 2022 E450 with the expected 3,000 miles for full sticker. They also REALLY wanted our trade in that day and I'm sure they made good money on the sale of our 2014 E-350 4Matic trade. It was sold after 1 day on their website listed at a cool 10 grand over what they gave us. I don't know if they got full price but I'm sure they did well.

IF they follow through as promised, I will share the dealership name. I'm a bit concerned they do not want these details made public but who knows.

Thanks for the explanation. My concern would be the sales tax, license fees, etc.

e450 All Terrain
My e450 All Terrain came basically complete. One random item I noticed missing was the switch in passenger cabin to let the back seats down.

I am not sure if this is because I opted for side airbags or they just eliminated it.

Anyone have thoughts? This is admittedly a minor issue compared to the others.

WOW! I just lowered the seats in our 2019 the other day and marveled at how amazingly well that feature works. How do you lower the seats in your wagon?

There are switches in the trunk. I am going to ask my service advisor to see if we can add it retroactively.

  • The "Rear Cross Traffic Alert" portion of the Premium package is missing. The new sheet calls this "Premium package Lite" (DP1 vs DP9) and there is a $150 credit

The initial statement was incorrect. He/she was confusing Rear Cross Traffic Alert with rear Hands Free Access, which is no longer available.

Eliminating these switches, along with the analog clock and other small items, was part of the W213 facelift.

Does MB build the All Terrain only at certain times???

I read a post here somewhere in which the writer said something about MB building the E450 4-Matic All Terrain "only at certain times." Can anyone shed any light on this? If true, how often do they build them? Are they built on the same assembly line as the E sedans? Just curious.

Thank you for the info. That’s an odd decision to eliminate a convenient feature like that. I’ll ask a service advisor if adding it back is even in tje realm of possible.

They’ll do anything to save a few bucks. I once went from a 2004 Saab convertible to a 2007. Because of a facelift. For the 2007, they eliminated the locking gas cap cover. The hole was still there for the locking cylinder, but no cable. The automatic day/night rear view mirror was replaced with a flip one. The smart door locks were replaced with dumb ones.
