What is the weight limit in trunk?

Hi guys,
Last week I had to mobilize some heavy items from my place to my parents place. it was between 120-150 or maximum around 200kg. The trip took around 10 minutes. Since then my friends kept telling me that I ****ed up the car suspension with heavy weight because I should not put heavy weight in the trunk. I don't think this weight will affect the struts any parts related to the rear suspension system since the weight is not that heavy. As far as I find weight capacity is around 700kg is that correct or I am wrong!

this is what I found through google since the manual is in home
Max load 715 kg 1576.31 lbs.

does that mean total weight in car or trunk only ?

I would 'think' that weight limit meant the cabin, the roof and the trunk.

.
Over a period of several weeks I moved about 900 pounds of kettlebells to sell at a weekend market. The standard rear suspension handled the load quite well. (Better than I did.)

I believe the weight is based on 175 lbs per passenger. So if 4 passengers, that would be 700 lbs, leaving the difference, 876 for the trunk.

Just my $.02.

You are fine. 200kg in the trunk is essentially equivalent to having two on the heavier side adult passengers in the rear. Both are over the rear axle. There's typically no weight limit for the trunk of a car. There are two limits that you have to keep in mind. There's a max allowed gross weight that should be stated on a sticker inside of the driver's door. You must not exceed that, and there's a limit of how much weight you are allowed to put on the roof of the car. Not entirely sure where that's stated, but probably in the owner's manual. So to know how much weight you are allowed to load your car with you have to subtract the actual curb weight of your car, which varies based on equipment and your weight, from the max gross weight. The resulting weight is what you are allowed to spread between the cabin, trunk and roof, keeping in mind that there's a limit for how much of it can go on the roof as stated already. If you put a disproportional amount of weight in the trunk, then the suspension may end up bottoming out over bumps, but air suspensions have the benefit that they can compensate for that. Just make sure you have proper tire pressures. If you load your car to the gross weight, you need to increase your tires pressure to the max load pressure as stated on the sticker inside of the fuel door.

Based on 654 engine doubt much if any difference for remaining models.

I used to carry some fairly heavy stuff in other cars but with this beast I am little paranoid and doesn't want to affect it.
