'22 E53 wagon?
So....now that the folks are (kinda) getting over the loss of the '22 e63s wagon, some of us are interested in learning more about the 53 variant replacement. With the understanding that it ain't the same beast, but might still be the best thing out there for longroof fans.
Is anyone hearing anything from dealers about how/when an order guide might be available? Wondering if it'll push to a 2023 model at this point, but curious about pricing, options, etc...
(Realizing this should maybe be in the AMG thread but can't delete this!)

^^ Check out the big threads going in the AMG forum. MBUSA is converting previously-placed e63 wagon orders to e53 orders....the word is that the e63 wagon is no more and it will only be the 53.

2020 E450 Wagon
Sadly anything different, high performance and large displacement will be killed off as electrification and fuel economy become order of the times. I remember in the 90's manufacturers were all trying to differentiate themselves from one another resulting in some pretty cool products. Now, everyone produces the same list of SUV's and little else that cool and exciting to drive. It is a sad time to be a gearhead/petrol head.

It will most likely be too costly and time consuming to get the E53 wagon DOT approved. Hopefully an E63 S213 wagon is offered for the 23 MY before the EOP of the W213.

The new trail blazers for example use 1.2 and 1.3 engines from Korea lmao.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
I'm fine with my 2019 E450 Wagon and I use to own a 2018 E63 AMG, personally I didn't really need all that much power and the E450 V6 non hybrid gas motor is perfect. The Added fuel economy and extra comfort on long trips helps out too. As far as performance if you look at the muscle cars of yesteryear and compare those figures to my E450 the numbers are similar. I remember my old Chevelle SS 396 turned around the same 0 to 60 time as my current E450 wagon although the chevelle did it in much more dramatic fashion lol. The E63 was just over the top super car territory that most people really don't need unless you lived along the Autobahn.

Totally agree.
I cross Germany usually twice per year and can tell you that you are not driving so often at speeds over 125 mph (200 kmh).
First of all not all Autobahn are unlimited and you have to count on traffic.
The most usual average speed you can hold safely and relaxed is around 90/100 mph on those unlimited stretches, otherwise maximum allowed in Germany is 80 mph as most for the rest of Europe .
Before ordering my E450, I was attracted by the E53 choice. I had discarded the E63 due to its purchase price, cars in Europe being 20 to 30% more expensive vs North America, insurance and yearly tax.My dealer advised me to go for a well equipped E450, the difference in performance nor really exploitable on normal roads.
Go for an E450 with full options and if you live in snowy place when it’s winter, add the 4Matic and pneumatic suspension that you can rise in order to increase ground clearance, not by much, but sufficiently.

in my stable: E450 T 4Matic + S500 (S550) Cabriolet + Mini Cooper S
