New E450 missing equipment
I picked up my new E450 yesterday and there was a $150 credit for D8K Missing Standard Widescreen Cockpit.
I notice the text (or image) on the screen doesn't completely fill the screen on the right side. The dealer can't tell me if this is a software thing that can be fixed later or they actually
installed a smaller right side screen. Either way, at this point i'm happy to have received the car.
Thanks.

I've asked my dealer to send me the VIN as soon as it's available,
so u can check it letter by letter against the configuration/proposal sheet on which basis i signed the lease.
So this is the first post I have come across of it actually happening. They give you $150 credit for a reduction of screen size (that is also buggy?). 'D8K Missing Standard Widescreen Cockpit' involves the widescreen, when I Google it, and there are other posts related to this.
Dealer lots are empty so these will sell. If some one doesn't accept an order so what?. In effect the ordering system is not working correctly. I need to adjust to this. My order will arrive around April.
I may just order another model I was looking at and then refuse delivery on one. Of course I wouldn't do this under normal circumstances. I'll have to use another dealer.

Don’t take delivery if you’re unhappy with that. It’s super frustrating and was poorly communicated. HOWEVER understand someone else will come in and buy the car, probably at MSRP.

I hope that I NEVER get that jaded.
Just be glad you are out of it.

But starting out in retail on the selling floor with a #2 pencil and sales checks with carbon paper to buying online, have had my share of tornado's: floods & Blizzards. Customers and staff dropping dead in the store - sure, armed robbery - absolutely
Pandemic is not an automatic excuse for poor business practices.

My dealer gets cars that are exactly as ordered, as well as cars that are missing options (and what is missing is random as well)
same goes for delivery: some cars hardly have any delay, others take months.
I'm lucky i guess because although my car had a 5 month delay, it gets to the dealer his week EXACTLY as I ordered it.
Maybe because it's a lease (through Mercedes) and they know that giving a cashback on missing options does not interest me ...?

If for some reason the car is missing key options, I will pass on the vehicle. The pandemic insanity has made purchasing. car very complicated and joyless.
