The macchiato/saddle interior is quite attractive and beautifully executed, but at least for me the floor mats are impossible to keep clean. I have wrestled with what would be the good looking replacement mats. This week I learned that MB has "expresso" colored mats. I presume that means dark brown. Has anyone tried them or seen them? Any pictures? Any other suggestions? Saddle? Tan? I do not under any circumstances want black mats. I hate seeing the black mat in the cargo area of the wagon. If MB could generate macchiato floor mats they could have generated a matching cargo mat.
I got the macchiato mats for the same reason. Its worked well for me. They are a very dark brown, darker than I anticipated. I toyed with sending them back and getting Saddle instead, but I decided that Saddle probably wouldn't hide the dirt as well.
I have a set of the Lloyd Luxe mats (seats only) and they're really nice. They also make the cargo area mats. They're available in several colors. The brown or saddle might be what you're looking for.
So, funny thing! Apparently I have expresso- SO, you'd probably like the Macchiato. I ended up looking around online and ordering from a MB dealership in Stockton (I think), who mailed the mats for free. My local dealership was not being good with the pricing at all.
XL Driver. Thank you very much. Interestingly, they look charcoal like on the floor of the garage, but brown like when installed. They nicely pick up the burl wood trim. Mine is the open pore matte brown. I think there is something to be said for getting the MB expresso mats since you know they will fit exactly and the fasteners will function as intended. Some of the after market suppliers claim a perfect fit, but I have learned the hard way that is not always true.
Now maybe we should consider the the "best" ambient color. I note you have yours set to pink/red. I always wonder what looks best and keep resetting the color. Maybe a yellow would be flattering to the macchiato/saddle trim. Decisions, decisions.
I'll have to try yellow! I live in Tucson, so its actually rainy today- but typically its very bright. I was worried when the mats first arrived that they would be too dark, but as you mentioned, once in place, and with the normal bright conditions they look alright.
I enjoy light color interiors, and I've protected mine, and I'm a fairly clean person, usually in the car by myself, but that "white" was impossible to keep even semi-clean on the mats.
I picked up the expresso mats yesterday. VG price. $147. They make so much more sense than the beige ones. MB should offer saddle ones. Jag has lambswool mats. They are really special.
