New E450 saves your foot!

Yes, the 2022 E450 (mine is the All Terrain) really does save my foot. My right foot gets 'over tired' from holding down the brake during long traffic light periods.
On past cars, I would shift into neutral and could then remove my foot (on level ground).
The E450 has a unique feature I didn't even know about. It is called the 'HOLD' feature and it is pure simplicity to use.

At a stop, very firmly depress the brake pedal. On the instrument panel, you will see the word "HOLD" appear. You can now remove you fool and relax it. The instant you then touch the accelerator pedal, the brak=es instantly release. Pure Mercedes genius!

Watch this very brief video for a clear illustration.

Glad you discovered this feature.

The feature was on my 2016 E350 and is also on my 2019 E450.

Yup! Can't drive a car without the hold feature any more. It's not a new thing though, our old Japanese. I kinda like the implementation in those cars more. You press the hold button once and then it'll hold the brakes every time you come to a complete stop without having to pump the brake pedal.

It wasn't on my 2009 w204 C class. It has a hill hold function where it just knew if it was on an incline but it would auto release after 2-3 seconds or so.

I believe the 2009 S class was the first Mercedes to have brake hold feature.

Nope, my 2006 W164 ML 350's has it too. I believe it's even younger than my ML. Aprox. 20 years.

remember to release the hold before moving off else it will wear off your rear brake pads.

It's my favourite feature, Ive used it in my various Benz for the last 10 years. I can't buy a car without it now.
