I’m trying to swap out the OEM rear diffuser on my AMG line rear bumper with an Ebay E53 style one (I don’t care, plastic is plastic, and don’t worry I’m not slapping on an AMG badge on my POS E300)

Is there a DIY on rear bumper removal?

Thanks!

OP - Which Ebay E53 diffuser did you buy btw and how'd it turn out? Been thinking about doing the same thing to mine.

I actually performed this task last week on my 21 E53 and it was very straight forward due to your provided files. Thanks for continuing to help the community.

I purchased this one. I’ll have the car back end of this week with the diffuser installed. I’ll post updates.

Removing W213 Estate internal boot trim
Great diagrams to help with bumper removal but beforehand just how do you get the Chrome strip just inside tail gate off?
've removed 3 screws and 2 plastic expansion rivets but it won't shift. Does it lever upwards or something/slide back or forth? I'd really appreciate any guidance as I need to access rear right side tail lamp which has either worked loose or wasn't reinstalled correctly when replacement tow bar fitted by MB service agent (40miles away!). Thanks everyone for forum's invaluable guidance

Thanks! This is the one I was looking at, seems like the same style - I'm just going for all black.

They are all pretty much the same “Chinese” replicas and the quality is something we can all expect.

I got my car back, the paint quality is good, fitment is good (except one spot on the passenger side bottom - that is getting worked on today by the shop I had this put on)

I will post pictures tonight if I have time.

Looks great! Question for you...
You mentioned "got my car back" which leads me to believe someone did the install for you, and it looks like you're in NoVA. If that's the case, do you think your shop would/could install a hitch on an E53 or CLE53? Looking to purchase one in the next year or so and need a hitch (w/ wiring harness) for my eMTB.

Hi,

I’ve seen sold the car and the shop that did the install was a bodyshop. You’ll be better off finding a mechanic (not a bodyshop) for something like that. There are plenty around that can install a hitch on any car.

thanks for the tip. Would love to a stealth hitch but they don’t make them for the CLE or the 202x E53 I believe.
