2022 E450 US Oil weight

Oh: you better watch them actually put in the oil, because the dealer may "ghost" you and show you the container without you knowing if the oil in that container was actually was used!
My dealer takes oil from an 50 gallon drum. I have no idea what kind of oil they use, but I suspect it is made by Mobil.
But for me, Mobil 1 is good enough!

2022 E450 4Matic.
Thanks in advance,
maw
EDIT... NVM... dealer has been using 5w30 for all the time of the warranty (purchased service package)... maybe I'll move to 5w40 afterwards... again, I'm interested in protection not gas mileage.

Primary Spec: MB-Approval 229.71 (0W-20)
Fully synthetic Mid-Low SAPS (necessary for Gasoline Particulate Filters)
Commonly Used Approved Products:
- Liqui Moly Top Tec 6600 0W-20
- Mobil 1 ESP x2 0W-20
- Genuine Mercedes-Benz 0W-20
Heavier weight oils are approved under spec
229.51, but i am confused about that as these oils are primarily for diesal mercedes engines.
I would like to use a heavier oil but my dealer said that is not complying with the waranty, which does not appear to be accurate, but I do not want to have to argue with the dealer if they refuse a warranty claim. That is an argument you cannot win

Here, this talks about PRIMARY spec... not the ONLY spec.
BIG difference there.
And yes you need to pay THAT much attention and read their "analyses" THAT closely.
Otherwise you'll run off thinking the world is flat or vaccines are poison because a bunch of people were hotly debating it in some idiot chat room.

From Valoline's site:
"Valvoline European Vehicle Full Synthetic Motor Oil provides low-SAPS Sulfated Ash, Phosphorus, and Sulfur) formulations to protect the sensitive exhaust after-treatment system and improve its performance."
"Reduced Sulfated Ash, Phosphorus, and Sulfur levels protect diesel particulate filters (DPF) and gasoline particulate filters (GPF), preventing costly system failures while maintaining emissions compliance."

A fresh W30 "euro oil" soon shears out of grade as a W20... seriously sub-standard for powerful turbo engines.
0W; 5W; 10W; 15W; 20W : multigrades are related to cold starts.
Premium MB approved 5W-40 lubricant (**)
Does your model year engine support 5W-40 grade?
If yes use the Approved Motul PAO 5W-40.
A superior lubricant with extended Hi/Lo temp range compared to basic Group-III "Synt." blends.
** : other options available with a more consistent viscosity that derates into upper W40 range.

(I run a 5W-50 PAO)

This engine oil is the best for 4-6-8 cylinder engines.
Change every year or 5,000 miles. Best of luck.

This is a premium PAO API-SP oil with extended lo/hi heat range - Great match for demanding turbo engines.
