Seats question

Hi all. 2019 E300.

Have had the car for just under a year now. Really like the drive, miss the 6 cyl power but I'm used to the 4 now.

Want to know if there is any way to leave my seat in the position I had it in before I turned the car off. Every time I get into the car the seat goes back to my setting (1) memory which is fine but why does it have to do this everytime? I feel like it's wear and tear on the motors and everything there by doing this every time. I can comofortably get into and out of the car while it's still on memory 1.

Thanks

Turn 'easy entry/exit' feature off.

This is helpful... My wife is 5'4" and I am 6'2". I simply can't get in after she drives it. The trouble is that the seats are pretty dam slow and it feels like an eternity waiting for it, especially when it is cold outside

I was going to ask on a new thread, but since it is related, I will ask here. I have the easy entry/exit activated for both steering wheel and the seat, however, it only moves the steering wheel and not the seat, and the seat is not normally pulled back all the way so it should be working. Any idea what I may be doing wrong or is it a software glitch? Thanks.

The owner's manual is not clear on this, but it's not actually the rear most position that counts. What counts is how upright you have the seat normally and where your normal seating position is relative to the B-pillar. In a sedan, the seat actually has to move forward at bit to make it easy to get out from behind the B-pillar. So if you are tall, the seat may actually move forward with the easy entry/exit turned on. But if you are more average height then the seat may not move at all if it's already in a position deemed easy to get in and out. In my C63S coupe for example the seat doesn't move. Only the steering wheel moves. I'm 5'11" and my normal driving position is fairly upright and the seat is not all the way back, but at the ideal position to get in and out. There's no need to move it.

I agree, the manual is not very clear, The way I set my seat is bit forward and actually my knees hit the bottom of the dashboard when getting out, so it would be helpful for this feature to function in my case. In my search for information, I came across this link, I may have to talk to the service department to see if this applies to my car.

I just turned this on on my car and the steering wheel moves up and only the seat back moves forward and inch or two because I have it reclined a bit more than normal. We'll see how much it moves after my wife drives it.

My seat does not move.
In the settings only the steering wheel is highlighted.

What does your operating manual say concerning 'easy exit/entry' feature.

I'll find out when I get the car back from the garage.... it had to go back, as they didn't fix it properly.

My owner's manual just indicates the availability of the feature and that it has to not be at the foremost back for chair to function. On the on-screen menu it just has three selections for off, steering wheel, or both steering wheel and chair movement, which is the one I have selected. It seems like the TSB I have mentioned above applies to many MYs and models and seats are not moving unless the software is updated by the dealer.

So for your model year and/or market easy entry/exit only provides steering wheel feature.

What is the point of having the seat move back in some market and not in others?

I think they are politely intimating that Americans are "fatter" than Englishmen

2016 C300 4Matic traded in for a 2022 E450 Coupe
At my 10K check, I asked them to look at driver seat because with easy entry/exit selected (steering wheel and seat checked) only the steering wheel moved up/down. Seat did not move back. Tech told me that’s the way it works on the 22s. It’s certainly not what the owners manual says. US market if it matters. *shrugs*
