2028 E400 Lowering Confusion

Good evening from South Florida!

So, I’ve read through other posts that I could find on this topic, and just couldn’t clear up my next steps to work on wheels, tires, and stance.

Wheels and tires, I plan on 20’s. All I’m positive on so far.

The confusion come with the current suspension setup, I know it’s not full airmatic, I’m almost positive that I have springs in the front, and some hybrid self leveling system in the back. I also have the “AMG” lowered stance from the factory.

With that said, what is the right path forward? I’ve seen a few different solutions; module for the rear and springs in the front, coil overs (unlikely), springs all the way around? Ugh, looking for help the fender to wheel gaps are triggering me 😂

Thanks in advance!

without sounding rude have done the obvious and looked at the front struts to see if you have airbags or springs? Also by the touchpad you would mhave abutton to raise the car if you have airmatic. All estates have bags at the back to that they self level when laoded. AMG Line/Sport cars do not come with lowered suspension if not equipped with air.

If you haev air then you can code the car to ride lower. Had mine done and it cost be €50; the car now rides 10cm lower or in the sport setting level by default. No change in ride quality and I have 20" wheels running 12mm spacers at the front nd 15mm at the back.

Haha thank you, not rude at all!! First, thank you for the response. I did look, but I’m not familiar with Mercedes suspension. I noticed boots (maybe bag?) in the back, but didn’t know if was just protective. Mainly, I’ve been trying to rely on my build sheet and the forums here.

Your setup is similar sounding to what I’m looking to accomplish, I don’t want the car slammed, just evened out. Guess I will hunt down someone that can code in the lowering of the rear!

Thanks again.do you have a picture you could share?

Pictures will be great to see how this looks. I have 19” stock and while the fender gap can be triggering, pushing the wheels out with spacers helps somewhat visually. But if coding can lower a tad more that’ll be great. Mine has air suspension, if that makes a difference.

I'll post a couple of photos anon. You may need to adjust your spacers depending on the ET of your current wheels as proper AMG cars have slightly different ET (offset) from non AMG (but AMG/Sport Line) cars. I think on a 63 the wheels are already 10mm further out than a normal cars, so you may only need 5 or 10mm spacers.

See attached. Currently in “Sport” so 10mm lower than the already 10mm lowered datum
