Wireless apple carplay devices
Hello,
I’m considering buying an apple wireless carplay device but I’m not familiar with the brands.
I’d appreciate if anyone here who lives in EU can recommend a good brand that ships to Germany in a short time as I have only about 3 weeks before departure.

it works pretty well. Once in a while it doesn’t connect properly so just plug and unplug. It takes a minute to startup when you hit the ignition but other than that it runs fairly smoothly. Allows you to select between multiple phones as well if you have someone else with a set of keys and a different phone to connect.

I use the Carlinkit 5.0 purchased via Amazon here in Canada

I've also been using the Carlinkit 5.0 on my 2019 E300. Here is the direct company website to the product: https://www.carlinkit.com/2air. I bought it off Amazon for faster delivery. It does take like 10 - 15 seconds to connect after turning the car. I have experienced some frozen CarPlay screens and random disconnections here and there. The Carlinkit site has some troubleshooting guides you could follow to reduce those though. So far, I am pretty happy with the purchase. The only annoying thing is that the CarPlay USB port is console cup holder so it takes up one cup spot.

If you're an Apple user, you wouldn't want to jump into an Android ecosystem. It's just not what you're used to, and it doesn't sync well with your iPhone. Plus, consider this: many devices now come with built-in 4G modules for a SIM card. So instead of just paying $199 upfront and using it for, let's say, the next three years, now you have to factor in an additional cost. To use it with CarPlay or Android Auto plus for streaming movies at the same time, you need a SIM card. That means an extra average of $40 a month for internet service, totaling $1440 over three years. So, that $199 device actually ends up costing you $1640, YES over $1500 more over the next three years. Why? Because if you don't get that separate LTE SIM card, you're stuck with just using CarPlay or watching videos.

The TBoxes run both Android Auto and Carplay, it actually uses Carplay to interface with the car. It also has a sim card slot.. Mouse from the rest above the control knob works in the full carplay mode with the native android 13 operating system but not in pass through mode (carplay).
The device can also use your phone as a wifi hotspot so the purchase of a SIM or SIM capable version of the TBox is not necessary. Running your Android Auto or Carplay uses your phone's data just like every other scenario that doesn't involve a standalone box like a TBox. Our Canadian networks are locked down for IMEI verification and I'm fighting to get a tablet (data only sim) working while my phone sim in the car works fine.
What does SUCK is that if you're in Waze it kicks your music over to aux and the quality drops way down. So, driving down the road in Waze with your music app playing isn't realistic.
It looks like you've got a nice device at Dashlynx, I'm just not sure most of your claims are accurate. I welcome any and all feedback.
