Wheel Fitment 2017 Wagon with AMG Package

I'm posting this here as the wheels sub-forum seems to get very little traffic.

My indy repair shop got his first look at a new-to-me 2017 E400 4Matic Wagon with the AMG-line trim. It has the larger AMG/Brembo brakes. He attempted to balance all 4 wheels as I was getting a slight vibration and he told me all 4 wheels were bent. So now I'm looking for replacement wheels that don't cost $2,500 each...

TireRack has these which look pretty similar to the OEM wheels
Rial M10 Wheels

I'm a noob when it comes to buying wheels but I'm smart enough to know that not all wheels will fit around those brakes (especially on the fronts).

Anybody on this forum know if those will work? I chatted with TireRack but they were feeding me the standard line, "If they are factory stock brakes, our wheels are guaranteed to fit." I have a shortish window to get this done as "my guy" is going on vacation after June 4.

Am I overthinking this?

Thanks all

Might look in the MBWorld Marketplace for replacements ($200 seems awfully cheap for quality wheels) I have some "new" Vossen 19X8.5 rims for sale, but they may not fit with AMG calipers, although I don't know if 2107 calipers are the same as facelift calipers.

The Wheels that are linked seem to have the wrong offset.of 38mm instead of the factory offset of 43mm. They also show out of stock.

Great, thanks!

They're expecting them back in stock by Friday and I live close to their distribution center for the NE. I can have them by Tuesday. They also have a 43mm option for the same wheels.

ETA, the 43mm wheels won't be back in stock until September...

Wow, I can't find anything under $1,000 per wheel that's in stock. I want something similar to the stock AMG wheels...split 5 spoke.

Sorry for the dumb questions but...I've never had to buy aftermarket wheels before.

So the factory offset for my car is 43mm. Most of the wheels that look similar to what I have are 45mm or even some 48mm offsets. Is that good or bad? I have a basic understanding of what offset is but can't wrap my head around what the impact of larger or smaller offsets are. If it's larger than factory, does that create more clearance around the brake calipers? Is 2mm a big deal? Iknow there's other threads about this but I just get confused reading them...

Here is a site where you can visualize the effects of different parameters by inputting specs and seeing the results.
It helps to physically measure the clearances on your car with the current wheels & tires.
Have fun!

Pretty slick, thank you for your patience.

I found a shop in Germany that will ship in 2-3 business days for $78 flat rate. Prices are a little higher than TR but they have what I want in stock and they have the factory-matched offset. Tunershop.com if anyone is interested. Their English (at least on the website) is perfect. I have to look into duty costs since the order will be over the $800 threshold.

I went ahead and ordered the Rial wheels (they are made in Germany) from TunerShop.com. All in, I'm under $1,000. I may use those for winter tires (I live in Vermont and New Hampshire) and see if the place near me can fix the AMG wheels.

Minimal offset differences like these aren’t much to sweat about. A 45mm offset is about same as a 43mm… but going to 48mm brings the rims even more recessed. The other part is the rim width… Generally, the lower the offset, the more it sticks outwards. Sometimes it helps to get a slightly lower offset to get the wheels much closer to the fenders so they “look right” instead of doughnutty with recessed wheels. Of course, this recessed rims can also be corrected with spacers…

I have swapped rims on my MB quite a bit and my rec is if you love the AMG stock rims, pay the $200/rim to have these fixed and be done with it. Buying new rims is if you want a new look and wanna change things up. Bent rims can be fixed back to stock with todays modern machines… and $200/rim is right about standard costs these days.

Good luck, but don’t sweat the little stuff.

Thanks for the insights. I looked at the AMG brake caliper clearance on the AMG wheels and it is only about 4mm. Not much wiggle room to play with bigger offsets without going to spacers. In the end, tunershop.com had the wheels I wanted with the factory width and offset.

Just to circle back and close out this thread...

I did have the AMG wheels straightened and they were only $150 per wheel. The tech told me that 2 were bad and 2 were really bad. I mounted Continental PureContact LS tires on them because they are one of the quietest tires available. I left the Michelin CrossClimate2 tires on the rims I ordered from Germany to use as winter wheels/tires. When I had the new tires mounted, I had an alignment done and glad I did. The rears were quite a bit off and once the old wheels/tires were removed, it's quite easy to see the increased wear on the inboard side of those 2.

All's well in my world now...
