2017 E300 Activate Service Mode
Rookie here. Can anyone help with how I enter service mode? Trying to change the rear brakes, but I can't deactivate the parking brake.

I tried holding the home button for 2 seconds and then pressing the enter button while holding the home button. Nothing happens.

Make sure you are on the trip screen

Still no luck. I do have a service B message that is a few days old. Could this be locking me out?

It shouldn't lock you out though, what seems to be the problem though, did you at least have success getting into the workshop menu or you can't get that to show up? If the problem is there is an error message, what is the error message?

No error message. The workshop menu shows up a couple of times in the beginning. But nothing after that.

It disappears after you turn off the ignition, you need to go through the same steps to get back into the work shop menu, so were you able to get inside the workshop menu showing menus like Vehicle Data, Dynamometer test, Brake Pad Replacement and ASSYST PLUS? Like what is shown in the video at the 0:45 time mark?

I am never able to make it to that screen. I get to the trip odometer screen and hold the buttons like video but I never get to the screen that shows assyst plus.

Make sure key is in position 1.

Are all doors, hood, and trunk closed? It only worked in my W212 and now W214 if all are closed.
