If you change your oil often (every 3000-5000 miles) with a proper oil, it should last as long as the engine. I have a 2004 Audi TT 225 1.8T that has been chipped since about 25,000 miles. It now has over 250,000 miles with the same K04 turbo. The oil has been changed every 5000 miles or less.

Body integrity was a little questionable as I had water intrusion that eventually caused all sorts of phantom malfunctions. Interestingly enough, once I found water pooled in the floorboard under the carpet, my insurance company totaled the car as flood damaged and paid me about twice what I had planned to sell it for.
Of course, that little story has very little, if not nothing, to do with this thread.

2. Mercedes DOES pay for shipping and waives the destination fee if you go through their program which I believe is now no longer available as of 2020/2021. Massimo stated that he did not have to change anything over like his headlights, taillights, dashboard etc. So he definitely went through the MB program. Again, probably lying because he said he only had to pay for shipping.
3. There are gasoline cars in Germany. I know more people who drive Gas Porsches, AMG's, S line Audi's etc than people who drive diesels. I was talking about the W213 E Class drivers that are almost all diesels. You won't find many gas powered W213 E Classes there unless they are AMG (I was just in Europe for 5 months. Didn't see one Gas powered E Class in the entire country).
4. I don't know. And I would believe him, IF he didn't sound like he makes sh*it up as he goes. If you look through his posts he always has someone he knows or his moms friend who does this that that etc. Just like the mirror link friend that 100% had to use Xentry to get that to work.
5. I had a 2000 E320 wagon as a first car that went up to half a million miles. Back when engines were robust and could handle such milage. I was solely talking about the 2.0L M274 Engine that he said has 300,000 miles without a single engine problem. I could bet my left kidney that isn't true. First thing is first, the PCV crankcase ventalation valve 10000% breaks on every M274 engine within the first 100,000-150,000 miles. So that's 100% a lie.

How long will my Turbo last on my 2017 E300 2.0 (w213)??
If if never step on it hard doesn't that mean it will spin less or not as fast making it last longer, and I never drive it past 70 MPH.
Love if I never changed this turbo and it last me for 300k miles!
Miss my 2012 E350 (w212) with 302 Horse power and no turbo.
Not sure why Benz went with this small turbo engine. Less horse power and not that much better on gas!
i have an s class 320 derv with only 77k on the clock and lost turbo function spoke to a garage that reconditioned them and he said first if you don't boot them hard every now and then you get a carbon deposit on your inner vanes which when the actuator tries to operate the turbo the arm moves but the vanes don't leaving you with no turbo function and very shortly a burnt out actuator then it's turbo off and send for recon or buy a new one it was suggested I buy a additive specifically for reducing carbon build up in turbo
there are various ones on the market I bought a couple of bottles of additive from Ali express unfortunately the 200ml bottle I have here is all in Chinese but used the first one on my c200 in a full tank and within a couple of weeks found I had a little more get up and go but more importantly my MPG figures on a run went from around 38mpg to 50 plus mpgso I am impressed I went on the Ali express site and typed in turbo carbon cleaner in tank additive cost was approx £10 for the two worth a punt especially on a high mileage turbo engine hope this helps

Found this on Reddit, just what my friend said in Germany that works at Mercedes about the piston failure:
I was talking to several service advisors from different dealerships, I have a 2018 C300 with the M274 and my car has been phenomenal. No issues whatsoever and I just hit 75K..
The shop foreman discuss the issue with me showed me several pictures of different M274 engines that were taken apart. And every time a customer would come in with the piston crack issue they would ask the customer if they are using 87 gas low-grade and they wouldn’t admit it. But upon there was so much deposit buildup from bad quality..
He said that everyone with the piston issue has been using low quality gas putting regular instead instead of premium. He said he often saw with people that traveled from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and they would fill up with regular gas…
Again have to ask yourself, why mostly only in the USA!?! (Bad gas!) and even using 91 octane at places like Walmart is like using 87 octane, don't go to cheap gas stations, always look for chevron or shell on that level.
Germany's w213 gas engines are not seeing this piston problem! why? answer above :-)

Do you honestly think the MB ownership population for I4 engines have different habits than the V6/V8?
I4 owners fill with bad/cheap gas, but the V6/V8 owners use premium ONLY? Really , I4 owners go to Walmart, but the V6/V8 do not..

Again, your M274 engine was still made in USA. Your car was assembled in Germany, just like all of our W213 E300's.
