Hybrid won't charge anymore

Not via a car charge point, nor at home with a 220v plug
( they are different cables as well, so those are not the problem)

The led near the socket lights up orange (as usual) and the switches off (instead of turning green)

i'm calling the dealer tomorrow (my car's a lease so not worried about cost) ,
but like to know if anyone here had a similar experience, so i can pass the info on to them.

Cheers

Dealer tested and confirmed it's not the charging installation or cable.
They've not seen this problem before.

appointment for 28 October
Hope will be fixed during that day and no parts need to be ordered.

To be continued...

That is a common response from dealerships. Makes you think your issue is unique. I wish they had a world wide database where a dealer can look for a similar issue anywhere in the world and what the fix may be. 🤔

In any case, there is a good chance it's a software issue as many things are with these cars. I love the tech but software can be another source of complicated problems. Hope you get it worked out.

It exists in the sense that Mercedes creates bulletins for common problems, ( Bulletins 213 - Page 7 - MBWorld.org Forums )
but if only a few people worldwide had a certain issue, no bulletin will be created

I'm lucky that i can still drive it as a regular diesel car :-)

I was recently in Switzerland and I noticed many of the W213 were plug in hybrids. I assume there may be a tax discount perhaps?

lease for a hybrid was cheaper than a regular diesel, even though the hybrid was about 6-7k euro more expensive if i'm not mistaken.
To be honest, with the price of electricity & diesel right now it's hard to earn back that difference if you would buy.
and the trunk space is ridiculous for such a big car, since the battery takes up a lot of space

Good to know. How often when it is working properly do you charge? Every night? Every week? Presumably the engine can also charge the battery while driving but how much of a decline in fuel economy occurs because it can't be charged?

Does the performance -- acceleration, passing etc -- decline markedly because you can't charge?

LOL, there is. That's why there is a place to enter customer complaints in XENTRY.

Isn't there some socialist law in the EU that bans model year 2035 and newer vehicles from using fossil fuels? Maybe they are all just drinking the Kool-Aid.

when i just got it i could drive 45/50 kms on a charge, after 2 years it's down to about 40/45
my commute us 52 kms one way, so it's almost completely electric . (once at work i charge it for the way back)
so i drive about 1000kms per month just for work and this mainly electric.

for longer drives i set the car to mixed, using both battery & diesel,
as it makes no sense to drive 50km electric and there after another 100+ kms on diesel only

the car does charge the battery but it's not much, unless you set it to "battery save" in which case it will charge, but never use, the battery

Switzerland is not a member state of the European Union (EU).
