MB W213 E300 4MATIC Luxury Model
2025 - 2yr/3yr pre-paid maintenance agreement cost for 2017 MY

I currently have a 2017 MY W213 Luxury model. In May 2022, I purchased a 3 yrs pre-paid maintenance agreement for $1,750 + tax with 31,435 miles on the vehicle. I used my last service May 2024 and now looking to purchase another 2yr/3yr pre-paid maintenance agreement. My NJ USA dealer is quoting me $1,790 + tax for 2yrs and $2,510 + tax for 3 yrs. The vehicle now has 42,600 miles. My dealer confirmed MB increased their pre-paid maintenance agreement.by 20% in 2024 and another 10% in 2025. What are others receiving for quotes on pre-paid maintenance agreement. Appreciated, thank you

What does the proposed plan cover? If you are 42,000 miles your next service is at 50K miles; Get specifics from the dealer: does it include spark plugs or only oil + filter? You need to know that before you can decide if the cost is worth it.

Will do, however he said full required scheduled services for the next 3 years, just as the previous 3 years. He confirmed it's an approximate 20% savings overall. Also another thing is, if MB has any additional increases for the next 3 years, I would not be affected. The next service is in a month and the car will only have approximately 44,000 max or less, however it will be 8 years old so I am pretty sure that makes a difference as well.

Do not know how handy you are and whether you like to work on cars: I do and like "fixing" things rather than replacing. Just cleaned and fixed a bird feeder that was made in the USA! Even my wife conceded it looked good when I finished. Went on Amazon and while cheap ones from China are $20/30, the one I have is $119!

I bought an oil extractor and now do my own oil and filter change, which is service "A". My cost is now less than $50. Before that I had an Indy do my oil changes: $160 vs. $225 at the dealer.

I also change the filters in the engine, very easy to do, but leave to my Indy shop changing the inside cabin filter.

Again before I would buy, I would find out specifically what the service will cover.

Remember the cost at the dealer for service is the same for a new car worth $70K as it is for you 8 year old MB which is worth $25 at most and probably less. Because of the cost and value of the car, simple things like oil and filter changes can be done by any competent Indy shop.

Just my $.02

I'm actually pretty handy, just never had any interest in the mechanical aspect of my vehicles. I will accessorize, not ever mechanical. I have done a lot of accessorizing to the car as it is, I have even installed a DSP (digital process amplifier) and 2 overhead tweeters, rotating door LED speakers, LED air vents, rain sensor/radar cover dash cam and others.

Appears the vehicle will require 80K service since it will be 8 years old, see attached. 1: Synthetic motor oil & filter replacement 2:Cabin dust/combination filter replacement 3:Brake fluid change 4: Fluid levels check & correction2 5:Multi-Point Inspection 6:Wiper blade sets 7:Engine air filter replacement. Spark plug replacement will be year 3

Before I would buy the prepaid maintenance I would check to see if the dealer will do the spark plug replacement, wiper blades, brake fluid change and all filters

I called and spoke with him and he confirmed all in the attachment would be covered for 3 years, 80k, 90k and 100k. Based on years of car in service not actual mileage on car if less than those 3 mileage service intervals.

When I had the prepaid it was during Covid so I was not driving. I came in for the 20K mile/2 year service at 2 years 10 months when my car had 20K miles on it. This was the B service and it was done at no charge to me..

A few days later my SA called and said I owed about $800 for the B service. I said "How could that be?". The SA said you were scheduled at 2 years and you came in at 2 years and 10 months, so you did not do the service on time. I said "you've got to be kidding": I pre-paid for the service and had no intention of paying a second time. He again asked for the $800 and I said absolutely "no". That was the end of it.

Do not know what would have happened if the SA had realized I was coming in for the B service at 20K miles, but 2 years 10 months instead of 2 years. Based on his follow up call, I would have had to pay a second time for the B service. Needless to say, I will never get the prepaid service again!

Keep this in mind if you buy a prepaid service contract. To get the service the dealer may insist on years or mileage whichever comes first. Make sure you are OK with this. Something might happen and you only drive 2000 miles. For the service contract the dealer may demand you come in after one year even though you drove only 2K miles.

The service intervals are always years or miles, which ever comes 1st. In Covid I only did 3k one year, it was still for the year and not the miles. If you did not have pre-paid they would have still done the service based on the number of years the vehicle was in service

Just be aware that if you travel, or do something else and do not drive your car, the service interval even for filters which obviously, as you did not drive are clean and do not need to be replaced, might be subject to time and not miles.

If this happens then the pre-paid maintenance will be a waste of money (changing air and cabin filters, windshield wiper blades, etc that are fine) - at least in my opinion.
