Mercedes-Benz Unveils the 6th-Generation W214 E-Class

Exactly, having cars that are total opposites is so much better for me. I'd love to get an S class, but my garage isn't long enough so I went with the E.

Same here, we moved to Florida and found the perfect house but the garage is just a few inches too small. Luckily its a company lease so next car will probably be smaller.

Maybe not, but I'm willing to spend 5 minutes to write an email and try.
I'm 37 years old. The reason why I have a Mercedes is because I want something more relaxed and luxurious for longer drives. I have a few BMW M cars for fun and a Lotus on order that I can drive when I want something more fun or athletic. The whole point of getting a Mercedes for me is to have something that is not as aggressive.
I realize I'm probably in the minority, but after driving many sporty sedans and dedicated sports cars, my preference has shifted to having a luxurious long distance cruiser, and more aggressive fun cars. Having one car to do it all is just too much of a compromise. I've driven an E39 M5 as a daily and a long distance warrior for 4 years and while I'd say that's probably gotten the balance between sport and luxury better than any other car I have driven, I'd rather drive my 2022 E450 on a long drive, and I'd rather drive my 98 E36 M3 in the canyons. Splitting the difference compromises too much. The E class should own the luxury segment and leave the sporty side to BMW, otherwise what differentiates them? (Okay fair enough, BMW's latest styling is enough to drive anyone away from the new 5 series)

Cost is an issue when you have to agree with the supplier for X number of parts. The take rate in the US was really really low going back to the W212 refresh. I haven't had anyone ask about the option in years. If we had one in stock it almost always ended up in the loaner fleet since it was a harder car to sell. You couldn't get nice wheels with it and most customers thought it made the car look old fashioned.

What is their email address? Maybe if they get enough email requests asking for it, they will offer it again.
The E36 BMW M3 was not destined to come to the US, but they got so many letters from BMW Car Club members that BMW decided to bring the model to the US and it turned out to be a huge commercial success.

The problem is, many Americans really wanted a big star, the bigger the better in front, and apparently that adds value to them.

If only MB still made the S coupes for example, because sounds like that type of length with the luxury of an S-Class will work better for you.

Guess the taillights will be super similar to the sedan. I guess ever since they made the taillight as a two piece design, it was way easier to implement it on a variety of body styles including estates or they just don't feel like the need to make it different to the sedan.
Anyways, sharp looking wagon, the standard lights doesn't look too bad other than maybe just poor quality images by the spy photographer making it looks like there is a permanent haze/fog in the headlight.

The new wagon looks good…..looks very similar to the current version ! Of course this is the regular wagon, while the US will only be getting the All-Terrain variant, with its higher ground clearance and the wheel cladding.

I think it will still look good though so don't worry. You can always lower it I guess if it is too high I think. The cladding, perhaps wrap it body colour or paint it but likely the former.

Due to the air suspension, in modes like Eco, Sport and Sport+, the car lowers itself, while in others like “comfort” or “off-road” etc., it raises itself. Best of both worlds. I personally leave it in a mode called “Individual” (customizable setting), where I leave the engine in the “comfort” setting, while the suspension I set to the “sport” level.
