I would get the 19" wheels and tires as the 20" ones might give you a noticeably harsher ride.

BTW, does the dealer have prices yet? If not, how will you determine pricing when the car comes in?

 

Looks like the dealer doesn't have pricing yet. I was able to give my salesperson the options I wanted based on the existing guide and paid a deposit to secure an allocation for my build but pricing will be decided later. He said to expect Q2 2024 for delivery, most likely April.

Just placed my order: 2024 E450. Per my sales advisor, the superscreen comes with the piano black center console only?? Can anyone else confirm? The fingerprints and scratches drive me crazy. Bad enough I’ll have to constantly wipe the superscreen.

Edit: I see an above post mentioning the same, however several pictures/videos floating around the internet show the superscreen with the black ash/silver metal weave center console.

What is the cost of the superscreen option?

 

Superscreen is $1500.

I honestly could have gone without, as it will just consume my passengers attention, but it’s new tech, and I ultimately said why not.

This is my build; didn’t go crazy with the options. The base price shown is obviously just a place holder, since I built it before pricing was announced for the E450. Now that it has been announced, I’m looking at ~75k.

So, I'm noticing that while the optional Burmester is called the "4D Surround Sound," it's missing the words "High End," so it won't compare to the optional Burmester systems in other models (W223, X167, etc.). It makes sense, I suppose, since it's code 810 (not code 811), and it's only $1,030 instead of usual $4k or $6k.


Pointing this out, in hopes that nobody will be disappointed by mistakenly thinking they're getting the awesome "High End" Burmester... not so.

 

4D just means the seat will vibrate but yes this is not the high end audio 811.

 

So, I’m a little confused about the passenger screen. I hear a lot about streaming capabilities. But in order to stream, will I need a WiFi subscription? Or maybe we will need to stream through Apple Car Play? I’m not sure what functionality is available without WiFi?

 

You should be able to use the hotspot on your phone, just keep in mind you'll be using data on your wireless plan but most plans have unlimited data unless you use an older/outdated phone.

 

Thank you for the order guide, because of you, we were able to go to the dealership and know exactly what we wanted to put in an order. We used an existing allocation they had for a build, and modified it for what we wanted. The build closes on March 13, and they’re saying we should get the car by June. Just went to my local dealership to look at several 2024 E350 they have on the lot and showroom. All are without Homelink with -$280 credit on the spec sheet. Personally, I would not purchase without Homelink since it is something I use everytime I drive my car into/out of my house (even though theoretically I can use my garage opener app to operate the opener it is still much more cumbersome). I will just wait for later batches and hope that they have solved the supply issues associated with the chip inside the Homlink device.

Did the dealership mention the possibility of missing Homelink device when you make your order? If you do not mind me asking, were you able to get any discount from MSRP pricing for your order?

 

What colors/options did you see? Any impressions you’d like to share?

I have yet to see the car in person.

 

There are 3 E350 in my local dealership: 2 white and 1 silver, all fully loaded with options (MRSP all $82,000+). I checked the websites of several other nearby dealerships and invariably they have like 3-4 E350 available albeit with no pictures to show yet (also fully loaded, which accordingly to the dealership I visited, is very typical for the very first batch of cars available so that they can show to potential customers and for test-driving purposes). Other than the missing Homelink issue, the cars look really nice, but basically in accordance with pictures/videos already posted on the internet. Also, for anyone who is aiming for E450 (myself included), it will be a little while longer before they start showing up in dealerships (one can put in an order now, however).

 

Yeah, I was seeing some later built (vin 13000-30000) E Clases on websites, which were custom and dealer orders, and suddenly just after the vehicles were reported released, I saw a flood of earlier build E Classes (vin 6000-13000) listed, all one of three or four general specs ($66,120 pretty basic, $72,360 pretty well equipped, and $81,570, $82,370, and $82,570 silver, white with black wood, white with brown wood respectively and very well equipped) and they're the first ones arriving at dealerships. These are the ones with the missing homelink and these are called "showroom unit" or "market launch vehicles.

I was lucky. Our local dealership had 3 allocations that were closing in 2 weeks for immediate build. I took the E450 and customized with everything except AIRMATIC Package. Moonlight White, Black Napa Leather. They said that it should be built by the end of March. If mine is missing the Homelink, I assume that the dealership can order that mirror and add on later. It should be here by June/July.
