I have changed the settings several times. I have turned satellite on, looked at 2D and 3D, turned satellite off, looked at 2D and 3D and they are all pretty much useless. I have also turned CarPlay off and then put CarPlay back on.
in addition, if I display the navigation on the screen by the steering wheel, it is similar to the original map that I had but without streets. The display by the steering wheel is different than the display on the main screen. See attached.
I suspect that an OTA screwed everything up. I am waiting to hear back from MB. Today will be 48 hours and I will not be surprised if I don’t hear anything because I am not sure that they even know what to do.
By the way, I subscribed to Internet through MB and when CarPlay is on, it interferes with the Internet.
I plan to go to the dealer today and ask them to show me the screen on any of the new E350s that they have there
I am very disappointed. I traded in my beautiful 2019 CLS450 which worked perfectly. I have to say that the CLS450 blows this car away. In addition, my E350 uses a lot more gas than my CLS450 which was six cylinders!
I have another question: I have traffic sign ID. In my CLS450, when I had cruise control activated, it would read the signs and automatically adjust the speed. My E350 reads the signs, but does not adjust the speed when cruise control is on and I was told by MB that it does not do this. if anybody else knows whether or not the car is capable of adjusting the speed when cruise control is on, please let me know. It has become obvious over the past few years that the people who answer the phones at MB are truly not really experts on any of the cars
I really appreciate all of the help from people on this forum. This is the display by the steering wheel. Why the display by the steering wheel and the display on the main screen are different is beyond me,
With cruise control, my 2024 E350 adjusts the speed based upon traffic signs. Unfortunately, there are places where it changes the traffic sign display and speed where there is no traffic sign. Often times in this situation it thinks the speed is 80 mph.
You can also turn off the automatic setting of the speed, but press the "resume" button when the speed limit changes. The car will set the cruise control to the new limit.
My car is at the dealer. My navigation system is definitely messed up. They started another E350 and saw the difference - a map with streets and clear designations
They said the OTA last week probably screwed it up and that my car has to be totally reprogrammed. I wonder how long this will take!

Well, at least that's progress. I don't think it should take too long to reprogram as it's actually just another update. They have to force it to install the previous version but they may do some additional things. Do you remember what version you had before?
Also, on your question about cruise control following speed limits. It does work in the E-Class and I verified it today. You have to have Traffic Sign assist enabled (it's is by default) in the settings. Then, to turn it on with cruise, you hit the resume button twice. It will set cruise to the current speed limit and when the speed limit changes, up or down, the car will automatically set the cruise to the new speed. Works very well actually. When you get your car back, give it a try.
I don’t remember the software number. I forgot to take a screenshot of it. They are definitely going to reprogram the entire car. They saw the difference. The screens that look like LEGO blocks and remote locations are definitely wrong. The correct map is much more accurate and you can zoom in without distortion. I did find the solution to the traffic sign speed control adjustment in cruise control in Distronics and I was able to turn it on. It does work correctly with that activated

When I picked the car up there was a problem with Sirius radio. You could select a station but there was no volume. The service department got involved and I think they updated the software. Fixed the volume problem but introduced new problems with Sirius radio (can't save to favorites).
Yes, my 2024 E- class are the same, the main screen froze up

Now dealer is telling me this is a problem with all the new E class and Mercedes Germany is telling them its about 3/4 months till there is a fix.
I can't believe that every E350 in the US has this problem as every dealer has them in inventory and is selling them.
I wonder if anyone out there has had this problem with a new E class
Yes, My 2024 E-class does the samething, the main screen froze up right after I logged in with my pin, and it would froze for hours. Took it back to the dealer 2 times and it still does the same thing they said it the new model so they don’t have any experience with it. They told me that they have to fix thing to thing that Mercedes told them to figure out what happened.
I have had my 2024 E450 for 4 weeks and have had the same problems with the super screen freezing. Took it in and they loaded some software but a few days ago froze when backing the car up. I am taking the car in again in two days but this is a pain with a new $90000 car. Does anyone know if there is a reboot for the super screen that would help this problem. I doubt this fix is going to be simple as it is freezing at different times.
I am opting not to order the super screen on my build. Too much more to go wrong. These cars are too tech heavy.
Hmmm I understand your concern but isn't the same software is used in both the standard and the super screen, just like an additional screen, say, an external monitor to a laptop?
There might be some different parts/processor if you have the passenger screen. Is anyone's screen freezing if they don't have the passenger screen?
With the use of platform technology, I doubt anything is different other than the extra hardware. The center screen is different as well from what I can tell but it is likely strictly cosmetic.
It's hard to know just how common the issue is or if it's limited to the superscreen with as little activity of W214 owners are on this board. I'm guessing that 90% of owners don't even use this board. I have the superscreen on my 2024 E350 and so far, no issues. I hope it stays that way and my 2025 E450 on order is the same.
